Phoenix Suns Play Terri-Bull Basketball and Lose to Chicago, 97-118
The Chicago Bulls continue their great start at home to the season and improve their home record to 6-0 as they thoroughly rout the Phoenix Suns without the help of Derrick Rose, who sat out today with a toe injury.
After an early 9-0 run and later a 12-0 run in the first half, the Bulls never looked back as they entered halftime up by 20 and pushed the lead to over 30 at some points during the game. Everyone believed the game would be defensively heavy... but it was a laugher as the Bulls provided their most dominating offensive performance of the season.
In a surprise to everyone, Rip Hamilton got the starting nod at SG for the Bulls, having not played in some time due to a groin injury, and he contributed with 11 points. But the bulk of the scoring for the Bulls came from the hand of Carlos Boozer, who shattered his season high in the first half alone with 26 points. He finished the game with 31 points on 14-21 shooting. CJ Watson also filled the shoes of Derrick Rose nicely, scoring 20+ points his own.
Bright spots for the Suns were the performances of Steve Nash and Marcin Gortat: Gortat with another double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Steve Nash with 25 points and 9 assists. They showed improved chemistry on the pick and roll, burning Carlos Boozer a number of times. Robin Lopez also showed some life, scoring 16 points off the bench. More after the jump.
Turning Point
Carlos Boozer going off in the 2nd quarter and the Bulls' 9-0 then 12-0 runs they pulled in the first half. They didn't look back after they grabbed that lead.
Stand-Out Performance
Steve Nash: 25 points (10-13 shooting, perfect from 3 with 3-3) 9 assists. Despite 5 turnovers (at least two should have been called fouls), Steve Nash was trying everything he could to keep his team in the game but the swarming Chicago defense stifled his teammates.
Notes/Game Story
1st Quarter
- Solid start for the Suns, a few jump shots sunk - a Nash 3 and we're off.
- Boozer can't defend the Nash to Gortat pick and roll - 3 trips in a roll executed to perfection
- Decent shooting for both teams in the first 6 minutes... but 3 turnovers for the Suns (2 on Frye)
- All of a sudden quick 9-0 run by the Bulls as the Suns try to push the pace, Suns timeout - having zero offense as you run backfires it seems. Note taken.
- Great Nash play out of timeout for 2 points (13-19)
- Great defense leads to a fastbreak no-look from Nash to Dudley for two - (17-21)
- Keef in for Frye with 4:40 to go - bring it rook.
- Ball so hard - Scalabrine couldn't phase me
- Nash and Gortat not only running the pick and roll well, exploiting mismatches with good regularity. Very positive here in the first
- Daring Boozer to shoot? OK he misses then Nash nails a 3 - good plan?
- It's like the Bulls can't miss. (21-29)
- Geez. Welcome back Rip. 3 FG's already.
- They said they have low scoring games here in Chicago right? WOWZERS. It's 31-39 in the first. Giving up 39 is never good I don't care what you say... but the Bulls were hitting very contested and decently defended shots. Got to have better D in the 2nd. But the bright side? The SUNS scored 31 points!!! WHOOOOOO!
2nd Quarter
- 2nd unit time! ... fouls... turnovers and wide open dunks for Asik time! (31-43)
- Warrick on Deng... interesting.
- Lopez in for Gortat - I want to see him bang with Asik, this should be fun
- Deng getting a foul called every time he moves towards the basket. Have to have better discipline and force him to the baseline - not straight to the rim.
- Price to Lopez pick and roll! Wut.
- Now Lopez backing down Boozer and drawing fouls!? Somebody pinch me.
- Lopez again posting up Boozer and cashing in. Very berry berry good.
- Suns hanging tight on the boards with the best rebounding team - 11-12 Bulls. 2 O-boards for each team to this point.
- 10 point deficit when Nash left... 10 point deficit when he returns. Not sure if we can ask for more from our bench at this point! Great showing from Lopez thus far.
- The only thing Batman has nightmares about? Brian Scalabrine.
- Michael Redd in and draws a foul going to the basket immediately.
- Boozer making all of his jump shots and Noah getting all the right bounces around the rim.
- Too many Suns turnovers (10) in the half already.
- Nash returns and the Bulls go on an 12-0 run. That's not supposed to happen. All thanks to Boozer who already has 22 points in the game with 3 minutes to go in the half. RIDICULOUS.
- Scoreless run finally broken by a Nash to Gortat alley-oop.
- Great interior passing by the Bulls. Very sharp looking team.
- It's all Gortat and Nash performing consistently at this point. 17 points and 7 Assists for Nash already and 10 points and 6 rebs for Gortat.
- Boozer comes out with 26 points in the half. Already a season high for him. Yikes.
- End of the second half. Suns down by 20. Ho hum. That's what a 9-0 run and a 12-0 run will do to you.
- Bulls 67 Suns 47. The Suns have to come back and play better defense in the second half. Cannot dare Boozer to shoot because obviously he was offended. Also we're going to need more offensive contributors. Story of the year.
3rd Quarter
- Two turnovers to start the half. Nash gets hammered... no call.
- We're all jump shots - all missed... and then Noah grabs an offensive rebound and slams it home amidst 4 Orange jerseys. This is not a good start to the half. Bulls 71 Suns 47.
- 3 minutes in to the 3rd and still no points for PHX.
- 7-0 run finally broken by a Channing Frye 2. (49-74)
- We get a defensive stop aaaaaaand then we commit a turnover. happens a lot today.
- Suns move to a zone on defense. Getting desperate.
- Rip rips the zone with a 3.
- Everything the Suns do, the Bulls do better. Nash hits a three, CJ Watson responds with one.
- Markieff not having a great day. 2 points 0 rebounds and 3 turnovers in 15 minutes so far.
- Make that 4 turnovers for Keef.
- This game is getting hard to watch even for me. (68-94)
- Brian Scalabrine is like a cross between a Ninja and Neo from the Matrix.
- Bulls 98 Suns 68. 30 point bludgeoning. Without Derrick Rose.
4th Quarter
- Hakim Warrick goes to work right away with an O-board and a putback.
- Ronnie Price puts CJ Watson in spin cycle and scores 2. 4 quick Suns points in the quarter.
- Lopez in - No more Gortat or Nash? Probably not.
- Shannon Brown scores. CJ Watson doing mighty fine as Rose's replacement. 23 points early in the 4th.
- Steal by Morris = fastbreak layup by Brown 78-102. This is garbage time indeed.
- Robin Lopez with a great showing tonight, maybe the lone bright spot aside from Nash and Gortat.
- Brian Scalabrine a.k.a. White Mamba sighting. Attention. He is in the game.
- Scalabrine electrifying the crowd with jaw dropping assists and ball handling. All-star.
- Then Robin Lopez tosses Asik to the ground! Yeaaah buddy. Fear the fro.
- Game over. 97-118 Bulls.
Take-Away
With Derrick Rose sitting this game out I know we all got a little wide-eyed and wondered if we could pull off an upset, but Carlos Boozer had other plans. The same problems reared their ugly head in this game - inconsistent defense and inconsistent offense. Those are not two easy fix problems so we should continue to stay patient and temper our expectations accordingly. Nash and Gortat remain the lone consistent spots on this team so far - unfortunately everything else is so bad it really doesn't matter.
I'm having a hard time taking a positive away from this game other than the fact that the Nash to Gortat pick and roll chemistry is improving constantly. Where does that get us? Nowhere. We need the team to collectively elevate their energy and break the mental barrier of suckage at this point.
I guess the "Kiss from a Rose" Seal song was probably about a chick and had nothing to do about this game. My bad.
The Suns must move on as they face ol' Mike D and Amare in NY tomorrow.

Saying it again.
We lost better than the Spurs tonight! And living in SA, that’s at least some small shred of pride.

I was just gonna post this
We lost by 1 less to Chicago (minus Rose) than the Spurs lost to the Heat (minus Wade). Bam! Eat that San Antonio!
BAMF goes HAM.
wait a minute
But the Spurs played without Manu and we had no one out. Sad….
Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash. That is all.

YES
I’ve been following his career ever since Slam or Dime profiled him when he was 15….I’m so glad that he is who they said he was.
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
Seriously
i think a line up change is needed, just something different to get a kick up he backside of some of the players
"SIR ALEX FERGUSON" Greatest Manager of all time
Well thats the thing, even lineup changes wont help.
We replace Dudley with who? Brown? Redd? Umm no thanks and not in basketball shape.
We replace Frye with Morris? Maybe but rookie mistakes and weill be asking for his head also.
Slumdog Millionaire without the million.
WE don't have many options...
We really have a team of two starters (Nash & Gortat) and a whole bunch of role players…
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
The difference now is that Dudley and Frye no longer are fooling me
At least last season they made me think they could be a starter, but this season pretty much proves they can’t do it…
Hill is finally playing like he’s in his late 30’s. I wouldn’t mind trading for an expiring contract. Perhaps Mayo could help?
Don't trade Dudley!
on second thought.
might as well just ride it out. hope for a lottery pick. only teams i can see doing worse is the wizards and the bobcats.
I disagree - line-up change could help a ton
Let’s get brown into the starting 5 and we will finally see if he can produce paired with Nash.
He can be the secondary option on each Nash-Hammer PnR if he cuts to the basket.
And maybe a twin-towers option is not bad at this point? With Gortat’s improved post up play he is not a black hole in the post anymore. If a double team comes – he can kick it out to open shooters or try a 2-man game with RoLo.
Anything is better than missing open 3’s. Let’s limit those to around 12 attempts a game and try to get production somewhere else…

The crazy thing is all the starters are the same players from end of last year too.
So its not they need time to adjust playing with each other, its the fact that only Nash and Gortat have gained some chemistry while the rest look like 6th grade biology class.
Slumdog Millionaire without the million.
Let's also remember that we weren't playing very well with that lineup, near the end of last season either.
At that point, we had mailed it in.
Last season’s team was at their best in January/February prior to Channing’s injury.
PG Nash/Brooks
SG VC/Dudley
SF Hill/Pietrus
PF Channing/Warrick
C Lopez/Gortat
That was the rotation Gentry was using. Then Frye got hurt, Nash got hurt and finally Pietrus.
Don't trade Dudley!
IMO the two injuries to Frye and Nash took us out of the playoffs
Otherwise we were in. But this year… no…

Gortat has been pretty solid for us as well. Everyone else has been either plain ineffective or way too streaky. I am excited/afraid to see what our roster is going to look like next season.

Sigh...
I am trying to find positives from this but it seems liike someone slipped Peyote into all the Suns gatorade save for Nash and Gortat…
This team has to show a little more than this…I know they can…Let’s do it for tommorroe…Let’s change the line-up a little maybe…that might help…
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
I also said this on the game thread
This team was fine up until the last 5 minutes of the Laker game. After that loss, I think they realized that no matter how hard they would try, they weren’t going to be a good team. Even if that’s true, they can’t give up. Just keep trying and the rest falls on the FO. As of right now, it’s all on the team, it’s THEIR fault. I don’t support lack of effort.
Nash and Gortat are doing fine. Frye has been a huge disappointment. I don’t even know if he could get us a good return anymore. At least Dudley is putting up the stats. Morris gets a pass because he’s the new guy and Hill because he’s just too old for this. The rest, I don’t even want to talk about. Oh well, maybe a player meeting is needed.
I wonder though, has the team given up on themselves or have they given up on Gentry? Either way, it’s their fault for the lack of effort.
Don't trade Dudley!
Sadly, I agree with many of your assertions, beav...
There is something definitely going on with the wffort. I know they can play better than this…
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
Thats the problem
They are trying. But heart and effort only take you so far. At some point you must pur legit starters on the floor. And only nash and gortat are that

How many starters do you have in Utah’s starting 5? Cleveland’s? New Orleans?
Many teams have players just as bad as ours – but they are cohesive units that know their team defense and plays on offense.

Blow it up
Really hope we decide to blow it up and start the rebuild if the FO is not gonna make a move to bring in a scorer. It’s like swallowing glass watching Nash give everything he has night in and night out for this. He deserves so much better than this. 2-Time has so much quality basketball to play as proof tonight but there is no sense in doing it with the Suns with this current roster. It’s sad to watch his career dwindle down like this..
You think it's sad to watch...
Try having a front seat from the bench like Chilly and Telly. I think I saw one of them crying in the middle of a checker match the other night.

They have to be shopping him
It’s obvious at this point, thus why he isn’t getting any PT. But I am willing to bet they are having a hard time finding any decent offers.
It’s too bad because I think he could actually help the bench a lot if we were not just wanting a wing who shot the 3 ball. He’s a hustle player who could be getting a lot of his points from offensive rebounds and put backs.

Childress is worth every penny of his contract. He’s just not in the right system to maximize his talents.
Or it’s Gentry’s fault for not playing him.
Or he’s still adjusting to the American game again.
Or he’s got bench sores on his ass and checker callusses on his shooting hand.

That could possibly be true
This years team and last year’s team were like the Wolves of 04-05 and 05-06. KG left a couple seasons later and they still haven’t been able to make the playoffs.
Don't trade Dudley!
but not good enough to make the playoffs
They like were like the 04-05 Wolves. So close, but so far away. Plus, VC didn’t care similar to Sprewell.
Don't trade Dudley!
You've misunderstood me
All I said is that the Phoenix Suns last year were similar to the T-Wolves because both teams were slightly below average and barley missed the playoffs. Also, both those teams were coming off of a year in which they made the WCF’s. That’s it, nothing more too it. Then, the following season the T-Wolves got worse just like we have. Eventually, KG got traded and they’ve been a terrible team ever since.
This comparison was in response to a comment that said, “The Phoenix Suns are entering TWolves territory.”
Don't trade Dudley!
I thought the Suns were playing in the Garden tomorrow?
They’re going to Minnesota instead?

You mean Sarver's selling the team and they're moving
to Minnesota!
I knew it!
Where do you think they’ll send the Timberwolves? Kansas City, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Las Vegas, Anaheim…. Just imagine the possibilities…

Right.
Doesn’t that sound awesome!
But if Sarver’s going to sell the Suns and relocate them, why not just keep the TImberwolves in Minnesota and send the Suns to Vegas?
I’m not quite sure if Sci Fi has this all thought out.

Why would Sarver sell the Suns to Vegas?
It would make so much more sense if he just kept the team and moved them to Vegas, am I right?
Don't trade Dudley!
Did the city make an offer?
I was thinking more along the lines of a private investor than a community owned franchise akin to the Packers.
Sarver did mention selling the team a ways back, though, and if it’s between Minnesota and Las Vegas I hope they go to Vegas.
It would be a lot easier for me to head up the road and watch games in Las Vegas.
Minnesota doesn’t do it for me based on the lack of propinquity and the gelid climate.

Do you see the comparison now?

Here. I'll give you a clue as you clearly need it.
Look at the 2010 team pre-trade. They could score. Like old Suns teams. Get it? And they could beat good teams somewhat. Unlike the Suns teams after that. I know the Suns management can’t see this but hopefully a few fans with a brain can.
IMO,
the post-trade team we had with Gortat rolling (see what I did there?) and Frye ICMFing it up was our best last year. That’s when I felt like we were going to make the playoffs for sure. Then Kevin Durant dislocated Frye’s arm. Season over.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

I have said it a few times now...
We just are not seeing the same fire and desire in this team that we normally see when it comes to Phoenix Suns teams of the past.
Normally after getting trounced by a team they would at least show up the next game and play hard. Instead, they started this game out in cruise control and then just let the game continue to get out of hand.
Not seeing any emotion from the players. No ones getting pissed. I remember at some point last season after Gortat got here, he threw the team under the bus and called them out. I think someone needs to call this team out and light a fire under their asses.

Nash needs to stop being so soft
and start making demands. i guaranty changes would be made if Nash threatened to ask for a trade if the suns don’t start winning
Well of course
Thats what the FO said. They said they will not trade Nash unless he specifically asks to be traded.

I wish there was another way...
but i think that is how Kobe and MJ did it. They were arrogant douchebags to their teammates. They called them out on their mistakes, they demanded the best out of them.

Someones feelings need to get hurt, and I don’t care if it’s public. I just want to see some emotion and a hint that the players give a damn that they are sucking so hard.

he's to nice
i can understand letting one season slide. but two? and not even remotly attempt to get better instead get a lot worse
He is too nice, but it's too late now
Nash had his opportunity in 2010. He should have called for the FO to re-sign Amar’e or replace him with similar talent (David Lee). Instead he just accepted that they weren’t going to compete for a title.
I love Steve Nash, he doesn’t have to be Kobe, but he can still be aggressively nice like Spongebob taught. Sometimes you just have to be mean even if you don’t want to, but it’s for the best.
Don't trade Dudley!
but he can still be aggressively nice
I believe they call that “being assertive” :)
As long as we have Steve, I still believe!
That was Sam cassell ugly
Just a really good team versus a really bad team.
But there were some positives:
- Nash and gortat look really good, both on their own and together. Nice to see some hard work by someone.
- Lopez looked much better than he has. If he could play this well every game, he will be an asset one way or the other.
- I still really like price. He plays hard and with energy. He doesn’t embarrass us. He is a pretty good back up.
- Morris still looks like a rookie on some plays, but he will be good. Nice draft pick up.
- brown isn’t taking every bad shot anymore. This isn’t huge, but it is something.
- dudz was alright, but nothing special tonight.
- we didn’t get Brian scalabrini a 3! Yeah!
- and VC missed the his shot at the end of the game in classic VC style. So we got that going for us.
- hopefully starters got rest for tomorrow.
Everyone else looks fairly lost. The defense is gone, and they are still missing open shots. And we just plain got beat by a damn good team. Until they gel (if the gel) we have to get used to just concentrating on the positives.

Let’s get it together eam..Go Suns…!
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
Absolutely. A fierce battle in the Garden awaits.
The Suns desperately need a win. They are still 13th in the West ahead of the Kings and the Hornets. The Hornets are truly horrible. Remember when they beat Phoenix in the home opener and people defended the Hornets and asserted that they weren’t that bad of a team. Those people were wrong. The Hornets are putrid. That was a really bad loss.
The Knicks are having daddy issues right now, so the Suns are rolling into town at a good time. As long as Phoenix can prevent Amare from awakening from an early season slumber (a la DWill) and Melo doesn’t throw in 50 I think the Suns have a good shot.
Go Phoenix. Despite the mounting losses and lack of credible evidence to the contrary, I can’t bring myself to believe that this team will continue on the current pace and finish 20-46 (or worse).

Of course the Hornets would be a terrible team now
since Eric Gordon hasn’t played since that first Phoenix game.
I still believe if everyone were healthy the Hornets would not be a ‘bad’ team. They are bad now because of injuries add Eric Gordon and they’d probably be 6-7, or 5-8 which would be near the middle of the WC right now.
No Gordon for 11 of your 13 games is going to be an issue. Imagine the Lakers without Kobe for that stretch but more exaggerated

I figured out the plan.
Steve Nash is currently leading every player in assists and still playing at a high level. He and Gortat are the only 2 players doing well and getting double-doubles every game. They are easily our team’s 2 best players. While they’re playing pretty damn well, we’re also losing all these games.
The gameplan? Tank the season while having our 2 best players maintain their phenomenal play. We’ll land a top 3 pick and re-sign our All-Star PG for smaller money. Use the rest of the money to throw 2 max deals or near-max deals at the top players of free agency: Howard, Williams, Love, Westbrook, and Gordon. Whatever money we have left will be used to sign some decent players for smaller contracts.
Just like that, we’ll automatically become a good team again! That’s the only logical conclusion… right??
As long as we have Steve, I still believe!
Yes!
in a way gotta give props for capitalizing on this shortened season. assuming it was intentional

Greetings from Chicago
so I got some business meetings in Chicago, and what a coincidence, Suns are in town… Didn’t expect much, just to see my Suns live, as I don’t have opportunity that often (living in Croatia, which is faaaaaaar)… and seeing Rose not playing, sad on one side not to see him live, my hopes went high… not for long… but I got to have photo and chat little bit with Mr Orange….
one funny thing happend to the end of the game, when few people started chanting “We want Childress” and he was laughing and telling them to be quite, as obviously he didn’t want to be on the court last few minutes… and Scal was the story of the game, they were chanting his name from start of 4th, and finally he gave them a show with 2-3 assists….
anyhow, was little bit bumped to see such a lousy effort, however, from my perspective, just to see Suns live is a treat… so welll.. not to mention Steve Nash…

My first Suns game was January of 08
Nash, Hill and Marion were out with the flu and we got slaughtered by the Jazz. I blamed Nash. He licks his fingers and then touches the ball. Plus, all those high fives he gives, it’s a no wonder the flu spread so quickly. At least now we know that Amar’e, Bell and Barbs wash their hands. That or they just have powerful immune systems.

Or really….any of the teams we rolled out from 2004-2010. Yes, even the 08/09 team.

Uh... we signed all those one-year deals AFTER the lockout ended.
Considering the players that are available next offseason, I would like to think the Suns are not going to make any foolish trades and risk ruining their cap flexibility just to scrape together 5 more wins this season.
If I had to pick between making a trade just to earn 5-10 more wins this season or continue this season stinking up the joint, I’d rather tank the season and land a guaranteed top 3 pick. Then extend 2 max contracts to max-worthy players, try to re-sign Nash at a lower price (for loyalty’s sake and the dude can still ball so why not?), and use whatever cap space we have left to pick up some small contract guys who can contribute.
That’d be my plan.
I'm a glutton for punishment. That's why I love the Phoenix Suns.
Yeah
I really don’t see the point in making a trade to try and improve us this year when we have all but 4 players off the books next offseason. Let the cards fall as they may and ride the season out. Unless they are trading to get a draft pick I don’t see why we would be making a move at all.

We are officially making the race to the bottom.
Top picks here we come!! Sorry for such attitude, but I think we should blow it up and trade for 2013 picks because I just don’t see the point nor the future. Personally, I only want to keep Gortat and Nash. And I guess we could blame the lost season on the guy trapped in China.
Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash. That is all.

if u havnt noticed, he is one of the worst pgs to ever play in the nba for multiple years. hes come in a little this year and was disgusting, just as hes always been. unless u guys want to lose out and get a top 3 pick, which i wouldnt mind, then it would make sense you want him out there. otherwise knock it off

Unless we can right the ship in a hurry, tanking doesn't seem so bad this season.
I’m not even sure the players(aside from nash, hill, dudley and gortat) have any desire to fight and try to make a playoff run, it sure hasn’t looked like it lately with their lack of effort.
While we got off to a slow start last year and then made a playoff push, this year just seems different. The players just don’t seem up for the challenge. There is still alot of games left to play but unless we turn things around in a BIG way i can’t see us coming close to making the playoffs.
Maybe they’re secretly trying to do as NashMV3 has suggested and are tanking while playing nash, hill and gortat in order to add a top 3-5 pick and a potential rookie of the year.
Then they"ll see about signing one or two top free agents and eventually people will forget this sad, shortened season in hopes of a more exciting future.
I also like gilchrest as a potential replacement for hill. However, if we can’t get him, then what about perry or terrence jones at small-forward?
Then we can make an offer to Deron williams and if he doesn’t bite, maybe we gamble on one of these young, talented guys- oj mayo, eric gordon, jerryd bayless or landry fields. They’d come at a much cheaper price and we could still continue to strongly pursue a bigger name after.
No to bayless and feilds

Elston sent a message to NBA teams last night
I still cant get over the fact Elston was interviewed for D’Antonio replacement in 08, but lost out to Jason Terry. Terry or Elston hmmm, tough choice there
Again, Terry Porter.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

Duds, Hill, Frye, Lopez, Redd, & Brown with 1 FOUL EACH
seriously, shooting 50-60%, and a Suns player won’t even touch the shooter. When you are getting that embarrassed, foul please. Many times a Suns player wouldnt even get to within 3’ of the shooter, even though the previous play had the same seniro. I don’t get it, it was like they didn’t know what to do.
tanking...
the old thinking is that we can’t tank with Nash…but barely miss the playoff…boy, are we wrong!!! let’s trade him to a contender or something…come on, be unselfish and make his life a bit better.
Well look at it like this, we aren't the only team in between trying to make the playoffs and lottery.
For example the Celtics. We have a nearly identical record. And i’m pretty sure they were supposed to be goood this year. So
I rock so get used to it.
O.t. but if a tomato is a fruit..
then is ketchup a smoothie??
we’re cheap, like to drink and are pissed off.

So a group of aging veterans and journeyman rent-a-players on one-year contracts doesn't seem to be gelling into a winning team.
I wonder why that is.
It worked so well in “Major League.”
Maybe they need to get a lifesize cardboard cutout of Sarver in the locker room and peel the clothing off it when…
Never mind. Bad idea.

in order for this plan to work
lopez needs to be our ricky “wild thing” vaughn, and i just don’t think he has it in him.

in this scenario, does Morris become the “JoBu” worshipper who can’t hit a curveball? And Warrick is Willy Mayes Hayes?
Which makes Nash the wily veteran that pulls them all together…
holy crap… this IS Major League!

so we're playing the knicks tonight
i have a feeling that this game is winnable. further, i think that if the lowly suns stroll into town and beat the once-vaunted knicks, the voices clamoring for mike D’s head in NYC might reach a fever pitch. i’m not sure there’s a coach in basketball who’s on a bigger hot seat right now. assuming that he’s going to get shitcanned at some point, should the suns re-hire him as our offensive coordinator?
(i’m 98% kidding)

Bayless and fields are young, athletic and talented, they are just on the wrong team. They would certainly be upgrades to what we have now instead of telfair and brown.
Anyway, if the suns want a potential superstar at shooting guard they"ll have to draft him, either in this draft (jeremy lamb or terrence ross) or the 2013 draft (shabazz muhammad).
Bayless is now on his third “wrong” team now, by the way.

I would take Landry Fields
But hell no to Bayless. Dude is a punk and I enjoy seeing things like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA9AjSnXK24
