Frye to the bench
I just watched the Lakers game, a game I knew we weren't going to win. Okay so you don't have to be Nostradamus to predict a Phoenix Suns loss these days. In all honesty I can live with the losses, I see the guys fighting hard. Just one look at Hill's face last night shows that the guy cares and you know he will put it all on the floor. Same things goes for most of the team. I'm also glad that guy's like Brown and Warrick don't get that much time to leave it on the court.
There is just one player on the team that is moving up fast in the top 5 players I really don't want to see in a Suns jersey. Yes Channing Frye that is you. I'm not a stat guy so don'ty shoot me if I don't have the research to prove what my basketball instinct is telling me. This guy is the main reason we are losing games. He has got the be the league leader in giving up and-one plays for the opposing team. He seems to have at least one or two a game. He has no clue what to do on defense, he is often too late or just out off position.
On offense, we know he is struggling but he has been for a long time now. Maybe it is not a struggle anymore but maye he has reached his ceiling for this season. We all know he can put in on the floor and that he does have some post up abilities, why not use them. What's killing is that there is always acouple of minutes that Nash tries to get him going. Problem is that if it doesn't work out, we don't get any points and Frye does even less on defense which means easy points on the other end. Before you know it we are ten down again.
In part you have to blaim the coaching staff for not getting him to play the game the way he should, but that is a different discussion.
Now this may just be a frustrated fan taking it out on Channing Frye, but somewhere in this post I think there is some truth between the emotion. I'm hoping to see Frye more on the bench or in another jersey.
NOTE: if Channing Frye beats the Lakers on Sunday with game winner don't be surprised if I nominate him for the Ring of Honor. I can be that oportunistic.

Agree !
Channing has been in a shooting slump for way too long and it’s costig us . . . And I can’t wait til Brooks comes back, Telfair is soo annoying and gives me late night headaches . . . I think the starting line-up should be ( Nash, Redd, Hill, Morris, Gortat ] – Bench ( Telfair / until Brooks return, JD, Brown, Frye, Lopez ]
Channing Frye is a good bench player
But because this team doesn’t have much talent, he’s been thrown into a starting role. Simple as that.
Joe Saunders: "They Giants played a really good game, so hats off to us"
So that means last year was an anomaly for him?
He was playing pretty well last season, we won a few games on his shoulders.
"If Gortat pulls off a real Dream Shake in-game this year I will shave my head.
Mark my words." Piotr Szczesniak 12/12/11 2:12 PM
Cardinals, Suns, D-backs for life!
Absolutely correct.
I cannot think of a team in the NBA where Channing Frye is a starter. He was a role player, is a role player and will be a role player.
Just another example of a "Role Player" being put in a position
where he cannot succeed. While C Frye is a big, tall, strong guy, he seems to have a fragile psyche. If he doesn’t hit a few early shots, he disappears. On defense, there is nothing more disgusting than to see him flapping his hands out after committing another ‘soft’ foul under the basket. He seems to say “Who me?” and looks like a real dork. Where is Bill Cartwright? Why hasn’t he coached Frye into being more aggressive and a little meaner while defending? The league is a much rougher place this year and yet Channing still gets called for touch fouls. Bad rep. and I think the refs like to see him with his hands out to his sides while whinning.
The Suns second string is poor this year because Frye and Dudley are starting. I would hope that Gentry would find a place for Redd and perhaps Morris on the starting unit and let the role players assume their roles. After eight years of no able back up for point guard…….the Suns still do not have an able point guard. You front office guys need to get a point guard in here. Shame on you.
Not sure if that is it
True he is not a starter but the things that frustrate the hell out of me have nothing to do with his talent. We all know Nash is defensively challenged but at least he tries and looks like he gives a damn. Frye looks like he checked out a long time ago.
You say he looks like a dork with his hands out asking the “Who me?” question. I think he is preparing for his career after basketball as a mime. He certainly defense like a mime.
All this about Frye, and he still has a green light to do as he wills????
What exactly is the coaches job? I beat that horse to much. Mediocre players up through the coaches to the owner. blah blah blah
I agree and disagree
ya he is sucking but with the current roster who would u have take his place? Morris wants to be on the bench and is playing pretty well for the second unit and Hakim couldn’t stop my grandma from scoring. i think instead of blaming him we need to blame the coaches for giving him the green light. if frye is banned from shooting threes maybe he will actually stay in the paint and be more productive
Put gortat at the PF
And start lopez at the C.
Make morris back up 4 and frye back up C but whenever morris and frye are on thr floor together morris bevomes the default C sinve hell plays doen low better. If morris and and gortat/rolo r on the floor 2gether then mreos is the default 4. I want see gortat play some pf with rolo.
Also we need to start redd and end with redd.
The only ppl that can save our season are
Redd
Morris
Brooks
To replace
JYD
Frye
Telfair/price
After that well need to aquire mercury guard diana turassi and give her surgery to remove her boobs and turn them into man parts
Nash/brooks/DT
Redd/DT/jyd
Hill/chilly/jyd
gortat/morris
Lopez/frye
Kill telfair price and warrick for the insurance money and sign terrell owens

i agree that frye sucks..he sucks about as much as your ability to write…you make some good points and admitted you dont care enough to bother with stats…this was PAINFUL to read…at least install a spell check and sentence organizer to go along with your lack of empirical evidence
