It looks like Carmelo might be available for the right price.
Now let me first say I always thought that Carmelo Anthony going to New York to join D'antoni and Amare always was a bad fit. He likes to post up, likes to have the ball in the high post. He scores very similiar to Amare Stoudemire so that was never going to be a great match.
I realize that it is currently easy to hate on Carmelo but he is a legitimate NBA franchise player and top 10 player in the league.
Melo is turning 28, he is right about to enter his prime and if the Suns could somehow acquire him would give them a great chance to rebuild within a year with the capspace they have. Having a franchise player in place would go a long way recruiting other good free agents to come to Phoenix.
All hypothetical, don't call me out on the exact fairness of the deals, nobody would be untouchable on our roster for Carmelo except for our draft pick.
Nash, Dudley and Hill for Carmelo would work financially.
Say the Suns could then move Lopez and Brown to Milwaukee for Jennings and Gooden in a salary dump move for Milwaukee. We would lose a large part of our cap room but we could rebuild around Jennings, Carmelo, Gortat and our pick this year.
