First off, I want to start with drafting. Who to draft...
My picks:
Jeremy Lamb: a great scorer who can score from anywhere, a super athletic player, and a knockdown shooter. This is EXACTLY what we need.
Perry Jones III: A very Amar'e esque player with his insane explosiveness, his great scoring abilities, and the ability to finish off plays with flair. The only downside is he doesn't try on defense (sound familiar?)
Kendall Marshall: the best PG coming into the draft, a great passer, a very Nash like player who is a pass first pg, something you rarely see. He would be a great back up pg for us and would develop very well under Nash.
Jared Sullinger: Many people say that he has fallen to about the 13-15 spot. He would be a great player for us, offering great defense and offense. He's strong, good in the post, decent at jumpers, and has a bunch of potential. The perfect infusion of Gortat and Amar'e.
Does anyone think we could trade up? Get one of Utah's picks?
Next up: Free Agency:
Who we can get (I'm not going into detail in them)
PG: Dragic, Hinrich, West, Deron Williams (LONGSHOT but I thought I should just put him in here), Billups, Mo Williams, Udrih, Augustin, Baron Davis, Andre Miller, Crawford (if you consider him point), and Bayless.
SG: Gordon, Barbs, Ray Allen, J.R. Smith, Lee, the Jet, Young, Gerald Green (and yes its only because of his dunk), Bello, and Lou Williams.
SF: Barbs again (if you consider him a 3), Foye, Delfino, Wallace, and Batum.
PF: KG, Timmy D, Amundson, Evans (Reggie), Ilyasova, Humphries, and Landry.
C: Not many good players here...
This is all if we re-sign Nash and Hill.
With this lineup, we can easily be contenders:
Nash/Dragic
Gordon/Lamb
Hill/Wallace (or Barbs)
KG (or Tim Duncan)/Amundson (or Frye)
Gortat/Lopez
We easily have enough cap space to sign Dragic, Gordon, Nash, Hill, KG, and Barbs...
