Blazers fan stopping by. First I'd like to say thank you for the gift to Basketball that is Steve Nash & the entire Seven Seconds or Less era. It got me through the JailBlazer era in Portland. That is a beautiful brand of basketball & I still fully believe if any of those teams had a legit defensive center they could have won at least one NBA title. Heck I wouldn't mind if D'Antonio landed in Rip City.
In Portland we just went through a rebuild & now it seems it has to happen again. Had our heart ripped out in Brandon Roy & our liver never really worked in Greg Oden. Some how our dead body kept functioning through all of that in LaMarcus Aldridge. Who improved through all of Portland's recent drama to become an all-star after being written off as a role player early in his career. Funny how things work, because now a lot of our own fan base wants to trade our only proven player in Aldridge. I am not a member of that group, would prefer to try to build around him if possible. We definitely need a center to keep LA at his natural position.
To get to my point, I'm a big fan of The Polish Hammer, as I am sure all of y'all are. Was wondering what you, the Suns fan base thought would be a reasonable offer for Marcin Gortat? I am not sure what the consensus is around here whether you'd like to try one more glory run with Steve Nash, in which case trading Gortat makes no sense. But if Phoenix plans to rebuild I'm wondering where a 28 year old Polish Hammer fits in all of it. Seems to be the same argument in Portland w/Aldridge that, you have just enough talent to be out of the lottery, but not enough to do any real damage in the playoffs. Portland has two lottery picks this year in #6 & #11, would you consider the latter? Or demand the former? What do you think of Wesley Matthews & Nicolas Batum?
Also as a bonus questions what are your general thoughts on former Sun & current free agent Goran Dragic? What could he be capable of if he got the keys to a team like say Portland from day 1? Whats he worth per year & what stopped him from being dominant in Phoenix like he was the last two months of the season when he finally got a chance to start for Houston?(Still have a soft spot for that 2010 playoff performance against the Spurs!)
Thanks for your time, desert dwellers.
Sincerely, your earthly NW rainy neighbors.
