My first POST!
Just wondering what our main options for the SG spot are as of this moment ?
I honestly think that we should pick someone up for at least a 2-3 year deal now for cheap and give them the start. Just so we have a backup for the future when the right player comes along. In terms of who is available, Brown is probably the best option (as we know he is a capable player but we all know he isn't exactly the best starter at the position.)
Gladly, I think MR. ORNG is unreliable and we can pick him up hopefully on a 2 year- 8 mil deal or something like that (hopefully another 1yr deal but I don't think he wants that again.)
After picking up Brown, I think we should also pick up Terrence Williams. He is a combo SG/SF, just like Dudley, and I think he would be a great addition to our bench. This would give us a line up of:
PG: Dragic/ Marshall/ Telfair
SG: Brown/ Dudley/ Lighty (?)
SF: Beasley/ T-Will
PF: Scola/ Markieff/ Warrick
C: Gortat/ Frye/ Lopez (?)
I believe that's kosher, we then have 14 players on our team, and I think that T-Will shouldn't cost us a lot of money. We can give him a one year deal at around 1-2 million. I feel like T-Will will take any deal he can get, I don't know how much attention he is getting, and I know he has potential.
I know it may be a little misguided to take one or even two project players such as Beasley and T-Will, but I think that they both (or at least T-Will) have shown that they want to play. As long as we have them on these deals and not the deals that we had in 2010, we should have flexibility for the future.
Just for the sake of an argument, I would also love to take on Oden for the right price. He has shown from albeit his small portfolio of NBA playing time, that he can produce at an unreal level. When he played he also never really played at 100%, so we have no idea how high his ceiling is. Again he is a high risk/reward player, but for the right price would totally be worth it.
I just want to know what your thoughts are on what I've said (although I know the most people have said something along these lines already.)
