According to a Yahoo article, Geoff Petrie will not be retained once the Sacramento Kings move to Seattle. Babby and Blanks are on expiring contracts and many people have already criticized them for being able to properly run a franchise. Petrie has had to work for the broke assholes known as the Maloofs yet his track record as GM of the Kings, in my opinion, has been fabulous. He assembled the early 2000's Kings team that should have won the 2002 NBA championship and has drafted exceptionally well (Cousins, Evans, Thomas, Robinson.) He has had very little to work with the past few seasons and Sacramento is not the ideal place forsaking free agency acquisitions.but Phoenix is an entirely different situation. Petrie was a former player so Ceballos can be rest assured that Petrie is a good GM. Petrie, who essentially traded Mitch Richmond for Chris Webber and Jason Willimas for Mike Bibby, could also mine out some gold in exchange for Gortat and Dudley. I cannot emphasize how monumental a difference signing a brilliant basketball mind like Petrie could have for this organization's future; within five seasons Petrie managed to build a championship contender for the Kings.
