Gentry was a good coach but he had a lot of weaknesses. I'm not going to talk about all of them but with Gentry gone I hope we can implement a better offensive scheme and actually implement a defensive scheme.

We don't have good players but there also didn't seem to be anything creative happening with our offensive scheme. So often Dragic just passes the ball to someone and see if they could do anything or at best penetrates and dumps it off with the most open guy. The only good thing we were able to do was get Scola the ball in one of his spots. We need an actual plan whether that's PnR with Gortat or whatever. Gentry tried and failed to implement a new corner-esque system but that was the ony effort I saw to improve the offense besides changing the lineup but changing the lineup and just throwing them back out there is stupid unless we still had our last PG. If we had an offensive scheme designed to get us certain high percentage shots, then at least SOME of the time we would get high percentage shots. Dragic, Scola and Dudley are smart enough to get guys to their spots so its not like we can't implement a simple scheme.

Also, I don't know WTF Sarver paid Turner for but I don't think it was defense because individually none of our players improved on defense and our team defense is horrible. No f*cking way Turner implemented any defensive scheme because none of our players ever do the same thing. They are NEVER on the same page. On PnR Scola challenges most of the time and Gortat sags off everytime. We all know Dragic needs to fight harder through picks but no one seems to have told him that. Unfortunately, it seems apparent that the we just threw them out there and told them to play defense. It would help SO much if we just forced them to communicate on defense.Force them to communicate and we'll do a lot better. Also, it would help a lot to if we implemented at least a basic defensive scheme. Our players aren't that smart. They need discipline, don't let them decide for themselves, tell them what to do and they'll be better for it. Even if we told the team to challenge EVERY PnR our defense would be better because our players will know what the other is doing. Then after that we can gameplan for certain players. This guy is too quick but can't shoot so in PnR sag off him instead of challenging. This guy sucks under pressure so make sure to go after him hard. Force the ball to this guy and force a bad shot; he's a chucker so its okay, he'll be happy to help us. Protect the paint and run off threes. Force 20 ft, contensted, fadeaway jumpers. NEVER leave Ray Allen, Steve Novak, JJ Reddick open. PLEASE PLEASE tell me you're going to do that much. I can't believe we even did that much and if we did then our players didn't give a f*ck what Turner and Gentry said, in which case I'm glad they got fired/left.
