For the second straight game, news has broken after I've written my preview that completely contradicts or invalidates half of what I write. With that being said, news!
Goran Dragic, in his second game back from injury and first game since the birth of his son, will start alongside Eric Bledsoe in the backcourt.Ddragic had a terrific game against the Blazers in the opener, and has every motivation to do even more in this one as he plays for Mateo. Excerpt from Coro's Orange Slices:
"I know that Maja is OK and her mom is there," Dragic said. "I know that somebody is going to take care of her and Mateo so that’s why I decided to come. When I was always injured, I said no more days off for me so I want to play. I think I’m going to be fine."
At today’s shootaround, the proud pop was still wearing the hospital bracelet from Mateo’s birth just after noon on Monday.
That pushes Gerald Green back to the bench. If Green can continue this hot streak with the second unit it will bode well for the Suns' continued success.
Also, reigning Western Conference Player of the Week Markieff Morris missed shoot-around with an injury according to Paul Coro. He's still set to play, but I have no idea how much he has in the tank or how sick he really is. Let's all hope it's nothing too serious, lest we are treated to more Mook Morris trying to guard LaMarcus Aldridge.
