The Knicks are trying to pull a trade for Kyle Lowry from Toronto. Sounds like they want a first round pick, which NY doesnt have. Couple that with NY wanting big man help and cap relief I think we can help on all three fronts. Heres my trade idea.
Toronto gets: Felton, Metta Peace, Pacers 1st rounder
New York gets: Lowry, Plumlee, Tucker, Okafor
Phoenix gets: Chandler, Hardaway Jr.
Toronto does it: they get their 1st rounder that they want
New york does it: they improve their roster dramatically with the inclusion of Lowry, Plumlee, and Tucker. Plus create $21.5 million in cap space at the end of the year.
Phoenix does it: think of this as two trades: Hardaway Jr. For the Pacers pick and Plumlee, Tucker, and Okafor for Tyson Chandler. If you don't do that second trade you're crazy. The first on is kind of a wash, but Hardaway is a good young asset so its not a bad trade. We can stash Tyson in our medical staff/dumbledore's lair and make sure he's good to go. It makes us a worse team this year but again, that only helps our draft position. We still retain our core and add Chandler to it. So with all the young picks and our core we can make trades/attract whatever free agents may come about.
think about it: 2014-15--
PG- Bledsoe, Ish
SG- Dragic, Green, Goodwin
C- Chandler, Len
PF- Frye, Markieff
SF- Marcus, Hardaway Jr.
Plus potentially 3 First rounders. Thats pretty solid.
