Hey guys, I'm a Bulls fan. I've come up with a trade proposal and wanted to get your feedback on if my idea was realistic, feasible, and good for both teams.
Boozer+Murphy+2014 2ndRounder ($15.3mil) ...for... Gortat+Scola+Brown ($15.7mil)
CHI would do this because they get a great backup Center to relieve Noah of some minutes. Scola will provide some of what Boozer did, and Brown is a throw-in to even out the salaries.
Would PHO do this? Boozer is under contract for two more seasons (expires at same time as Scola, Beasley, and Frye does). He's still productive (16.2pts, .477 fg%, .731 ft%, 9.8rbs, 2.3asts, 32.2min, 79 games, 17.17 PER), especially in the pick-and-roll/pop game (where he would thrive with Dragic). And for the 'rebuild', PHO gets two prospects. Our 2nd Round pick (Eric Murphy - 6'10 240lb stretch-4) and a 2014 2ndRounder.
But We're Rebuilding/Tanking
I know the Star-Studded 2014 Draft Class is right around the corner and you (and about half the league) want to tank (understandably so), so how exactly does this help?
For starters, Len and Goodwin would get more playing time without the 'veterans' there. Even though Boozer is still productive on the offensive side of the ball, I can be honest...he's just not a good defender, at all. He'll provide the excitement of scoring, but that won't necessarily mean more wins (trust me, I've watched him play). As a polished offensive scorer, he could help development the rest of the young Bigs on their games there during the next two years of rebuilding. And most importantly, PHO gets two assets for the rebuild as stated above.
I figured a lineup like this would be decent for a 'rebuilding team'.
C. Len (Frye)
PF. Boozer (Morris, Murphy)
SF. Morris (Beasley, Butler)
SG. Goodwin (Tucker)
PG. Dragic (Bledsoe, Marshall)
