WHY PHILADELPHIA DOES THIS TRADE:
Philadelphia accepts this trade for two reasons. They are tanking, and they desperately want Andrew Wiggins. This would give them the edge over all other competition, including us. Another reason this trade could work out is because of Evan Turner. If Evan Turner is going to have a breakout season in Philly, he needs to have the ball in his hands. Frankly, he isn't very effective without it, either. Kendall Marshall spreads the ball around, has excellent court vision, and can find the open man. This is evidenced by him setting the single game record for assists in a player's first start. Kendall won't asked be asked to play starter's minutes, and this will be beneficial to him as a young prospect trying to figure out the NBA game.
WHY PHOENIX DOES THIS TRADE:
Phoenix does this trade for a couple reasons, also. They manage to clear a little bit of salary, which is always beneficial for a rebuilding team. As for the return, they get the second year player out of Mississippi State Arnett Moultrie. Moultrie may have some upside, and I can see him as a guy Ryan McDonough would like to have as an asset. Finally, they trade Kendall Marshall, who has been on the trading block since the new regime took over. Also, this trade will not make us any better at the moment, and it will not influence Tankapalooza. This is another plus.
