As I’m sure many of you know, the 15 dollar challenge is a game that is running rampant in the Twittersphere and is the source of many a heated debate. For those who haven’t heard, the point of the game is to pick a fictional starting five from 25 players with varying costs, all with a $15 budget. With that being said, I present the 15 Dollar Challenge: Suns Edition

PG:

Steve Nash $5 – Kevin Johnson $4 – Goran Dragic $3 – Eric Bledsoe $2 – Leandro Barbosa $1

SG:

Walter Davis $5 – Paul Westphal $4 – Jeff Hornacek $3 – Dick Van Arsdale $2 – Gerald Green $1

SF:

Connie Hawkins $5 – Shawn Marion $4 – Dan Majerle $3 – Grant Hill $2 – Gar Heard $1

PF:

Charles Barkley $5 – Amar’e Stoudemire $4 – Tom Chambers $3 – Truck Robinson $2 – Markieff Morris$1

C:

Alvan Adams $5 – Larry Nance $4 – Mark West $3 – Maurice Lucas $2 – Miles Plumlee $1

Bonus:

As a sixth man/developmental player, choose one of either Archie Goodwin, Alex Len, or a prospect who could reasonably fall to the Suns with the 14th pick of the 2014 draft.

A Few Notes:

·I understand that the list may be skewed a little towards the modern-day suns (Miles Plumlee probably doesn’t deserve to be on this list quite yet), but I felt more comfortable going with guys I had seen vs. guys with good stats I hadn’t heard of.

· I tried to keep the list to players who had definitive years with the Suns, i.e., no Stephon Marbury or Jason Kidd (Although I understand this may not be true for all these players).

· Some of the players’ positions may not align with what they traditionally played, but I had to make them fit for the purposes of the game.

My Team:

KJ, Dick Van Arsdale, Dan Majerle, Charles Barkley, Miles Plumlee, Nik Stauskus.

-Yeah, we may be a bit undersized, but I love that about my team. It just makes us fight that much harder. I see this team playing at a tempo similar to the modern day Suns with the athletic center Miles Plumlee throwing down lobs from Kevin Johnson, and Sir Charles ripping down rebounds. Nik Stauskus is coming off the bench to give us a three-point scoring punch, which could be a weakness of the starting five.

Let me know in the comments who’s on your team, or who you think should/shouldn’t have been included on the list!
