Sure we would all love a superstar free agent like Lebron James or Kevin Love, but being a smaller market and team without as many known names it might difficult to lure them. Why haven't we heard anything about some of the smaller free agents that could immediately help take us over the hump into the playoffs even if we don't have a "big 3".
I'm talking people like Trevor Ariza, Gordon Hayward, Greg Monroe, Spencer Hawes, Pau Gasol, and Zach Randolph. Some of these names are already known as stars, maybe not on the same level as Lebron, but they would dramatically help a good, young team with one of the best backcourts in the NBA.
We are also so worried about trading for Kevin Love, why not try and take advantage of all the pieces we have for trades in our picks and mid level talent and use it to our advantage. The warriors want Kevin Love, why not give them some pieces that make it easier for them, and take someone like David Lee off their hands that will immediately give us a bit more of an inside presence.
