Realistic Trade for Kevin Love???

Yes I know what you are thinking another post for Kevin Love well I was thinking of how to get Kevin Love and what assets would Minnesota require to replace him.

Reports are that Flip Saunders wants talent that can contribute right away and not young players and to take some of the contracts off of the roster, rumours are they want to get rid of Kevin Martin.

Looking at the current Minnesota roster:

Depth Chart:

PG: Ricky Rubio, Alexey Shved, J.J Barea
SG: Kevin Martin, , Shabazz Muhammad,Zach LaVine
SF: Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Glenn Robinson III
PF: Kevin Love, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
C: Nikola Pekovic, Gorgui Dieng, Ronny Turiaf
Looking at the current roster if Love were to leave they would need to find a replacement at PF, DUH!!!.

I went around the league thinking no one is taking the contract of Nikola Pekovic and he is a offensive centre. So the need to put a defensive PF next to Nikola Pekovic, and I went around all the rosters and came up with JOSH SMITH.

and just as i write this there is this report from REAL GM:

IF you don't want to click the link the reports says

"The Kings are attempting to find a third team to engage in trade talks to help facilitate the deal.

Talks have centered around Jason Thompson and either Derrick Williams or Jason Terry to the Pistons for Smith."

So here is my proposal of a three team trade that I think is fair for all sides involved.

Detroit send out JOSH SMITH to the Minnesota Timberwolves. His contract is $13,500,000 for the next 3 seasons (2014-15/ 2015-16/ 2016-17) with no options.

So in theory since rumours are that Kevin Love would have opted out for next years free agency they get an above average PF on their roster for two years extra than they would have had in Kevin Love.

Also send them Tyler Ennis( our unsigned draft pick as the Pistons PG of the future Brandon Jennings is signed for this season and next) and the Morris TWINS along with our 2015 1st round pick.

They can then re-sign Greg Monroe as they have said they want to do as Monroe is in the same boat as Bledsoe as no teams have enough cap space to throw a MAX contract to either of them.

Here are some quotes from Stan Van Gundy on the Greg Monroe situation.

Depth Chart:
PG: Brandon Jennings, D.J. Augustin, Will Bynum, Tyler Ennis
SG: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jodie Meeks, Kyle Singler
SF: Caron Butler, Marcus Morris,Luigi Datome
PF: Greg Monroe, Markieff Morris,Jonas Jerebko,
C: Andre Drummond, Tony Mitchell

The Timberwolves receive JOSH SMITH from the Pistons and Miles Plumlee from the Suns, along with sending the pick they owe us back as well as the Lakers 2015 1st round pick.

Depth Chart:
PG: Ricky Rubio,Alexey Shved
SG: Shabazz Muhammad,, J.J Barea , Zach LaVine
SF: Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Glen Robinson III
PF: JOSH SMITH, Miles Plumlee
C: Nikola Pekovic, Gorgui Dieng, Ronny Turiaf

The Phoenix Suns receive Kevin Love, Kevin Martin and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

Then I would take a flyer on Andray Blatche on a similar deal to Anthony Tolliver with the first and second years non guaranteed so we can cut him if he has an "episode" in either year. I know he has had his problems and he has a great you tube video of trying to grab the last rebound to complete a tipple double but fails to do so,but he is 27 years old 6'11 and 260 pounds. His stats last year from the bench, he averaged 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds and a PER of 18.85 in 22.2 mins.

To be honest I want another miracle in the desert in terms of the medical staff resurrecting another players career. They have been lucky as many of teams players are so young and healthy. So I would sign to the minimum Greg Oden for a year to see if the medical training staff can revive him to be a decent back up. Or we can for comedic and bench warming duties we can sign Andris Biedrins to the minimum.

Depth Chart:
PG: Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas, Seth Curry
SG: Bledsoe, Archie Goodwin, TJ Warren
SF: Tucker, Gerald Green, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
PF: KEVIN LOVE, Anthony Tolliver
C: Alex Len, , Andray Blatche

We still have Kevin Martin on our roster from the Minnesota Timberwolves which we can flip straight up to the Indiana Pacers for the non- guaranteed contract of Luis Scola ( just so you guys and girls know i am laughing like crazy just writing this sentence because it would be typical for Ryan McDonough to screw over the Pacers over two years in a row.) why the pacers reluctantly take the deal as Lance Stephenson has signed for the Charlotte Hornets and Kevin Martin has 3 years 21 million left on his deal and become the teams starting SG where he averaged 19.1 PPG last season. The Pacers would be $68m with 14 players on the roster.

We can keep Luis Scola on the roster for one year for depth or we can buy him out which is $1.5m guaranteed.

A team can not reacquire a player they traded away during that season (July 1- June 30) so in theory we can trade for him.

Depth Chart*:
PG: George Hill, C.J. Watson,Donald Sloan
SG: Kevin Martin, Rodney Stuckey
SF: Paul George, Solomon Hill,
PF: David West, Chris Copeland, Damjan Rudez
C: Roy Hibbert, Ian Mahinmi, Lavon Allen

So there you go lots of moving parts but over all every team involved gets better and adds some depth.

I personally think the only un-trade-able players on the team are Dragic, Bledsoe and Len, all other players and draft picks are available.

Here is the trade ID #6489081 from Real GM showing it can work. So tell me what do you guys think.???
