Darryl Dawkins, the man known as Chocolate Thunder, passed away on Aug. 27 at the age of 58, and while he never suited up for the Suns, his outsized personality left an impact on everyone.
As a basketball player, he is probably best known for his dunks — several of which broke backboards and led the NBA to adopt breakaway rims — but as entertaining as his dunks were, the names he gave them were just as captivating. From the "In Your Face Disgrace" and "Turbo Sexophonic Delight" to the classic "Chocolate-Thunder-Flying, Glass-Flying, Robinzine-Crying, Babies-Crying, Glass-Still-Flying, Cats-Crying, Rump-Roasting, Bun-Toasting, Thank You-Wham-Bam-I-Am-Jam", the man knew how to enjoy himself.
So in tribute to the man from the planet Lovetron, here are some of the best dunks in Phoenix Suns history given the Chocolate Thunder treatment.
