Looking Ahead(and back)
As the Suns get ready to play a meaningless game against the Spurs, Suns fans are probably looking to the off season and beyond. There are many questions about what will happen to the roster such as: Who do we keep and who do we get rid of? Should we trade anyone? Who should we draft? Will Steve Nash stay with us? While the front office makes these decisions, it is fun for fans to wonder what will happen. Read after the jump for some important dates.

I'm sorry for rosterbating...
Anyways, I was looking on BR and saw some awesome stuff, (prob not gonna happen, but if it does we need to start printing finals jersies for the team) BR said we sign Gordon, Batum, and Oden, we amnesty Chilress, and we resign Bassy. It has our final roster like this:
PG: Nash/Telfair
SG: Gordon/Dudley
SF: Batum/Hill/Draft Pick wherever position
PF: Frye/Kieff/Warrick
C: Gortat/Oden
That is easily a chamionship team right there, we have scoring, defense, rebounding, shooting, and passing. The perfect combination. I know that that may not happen, so for the FA we should get, I made this post. Everyone share your ideas on FA, trades, and draft. Honestly, I'm all for Gordon, Oden, and if we get Batum, him, or instead Allen. In the draft I would want Jones III or Lamb, as they are both great scorers.
ROSTERBATE BELOW!!!
My proposal to fix the NBA Draft System
I just thought of this over lunch.

Suns’ Rebuilding Process Has Been Hugely Accelerated
If you cast your mind back to last summer, a few of us…well most of us, had absolutely no hope for the upcoming season. The lockout didn’t actually seem like such a bad thing because it meant we wouldn’t have to struggle through a pitiful 82 game season of mostly losses. Remember, just prior to the shortened season tipping off, ESPN reckoned this team was the second worst in the West after the Hornets who had just traded CP3. They weren’t the only ones.
With the slow start and some awful losses to the likes of the Nets, Raptors and Cavs, it looked like that assessment was right. Calls for "tanking" were soon in full flow, as were the arguments to "free Nash" and do a "full blown rebuild" based around securing a high draft pick. In other words, a lost season.

The best possible playoff scenario
The best possible playoff scenario for the Phoenix Suns is for the Suns to win three games and the Mavericks and Nuggets to also lose three games, vaulting the Suns to a #6 seed and avoiding a first round matchup against the Spurs or Thunder. Everyone knows the chances of that happening are next to impossible. It's almost as unlikely that one of these two teams (Nuggets or Mavericks) lose three games and the Suns win three games, giving the Suns a #7 seed. So short of these two improbable scenarios, what's the Suns best playoff scenario?
Acknowledging the over-achieving Suns.
There has been a distinct lack of credit given to the Phoenix Suns throughout the 2011-12 NBA season, which is to be expected. At the start of this 66-game season, when the internet collectively combined to make their knowledgeable predictions of the upcoming season, there weren't many established names in the media who thought the Suns would make the impact they have so far. Veteran NBA writer Sam Smith predicted us to finish 14th, ahead of only the Rockets. These two teams currently stand at 8th and 9th in the conference respectively. ESPN expert (lol) John Hollinger also predicted that we would finish at 14th, ahead of the Hornets (at least he got that right).
Coming into the season, national interest in the Suns was zilch. There were other, more important storylines. Would the Heat finally win the promised championship? Did the Mavericks have enough to retain their title? Is Kobe too old? How would the Knicks fare with a full off-season under their belt? The only mention the Suns ever got on the front pages of anywhere were "rumors from sources close to the Phoenix front office" that they were going to trade to a contender.

I built a comment counter
Everyone who likes to talk in the game threads (ok maybe just me) loves the comment count thing who ever it is does (sorry, coding makes my English bad), so I built a site to track it:
http://cperg.com/ - here is a screenshot for the truly lazy:

I have only the last few games, but I'll run it each game day so we can settle who comments the most, and who is most Verbose quickly and efficiently.

Dragic's Rise Poses Uncomfortable Questions For Suns
And so the student has become the master.
Goran Dragic's meteoric rise from relevant backup to a starring role for the playoff-contending Houston Rockets has been covered from nearly every angle. Especially from fans and supporters of the Phoenix Suns.
In order to avoid rehashing tired storylines, I'll be brief: Seeing Dragic succeed in a starting role for the Houston Rockets — who currently sit tied with the Suns for the eighth seed in the playoffs — is surely a sore sight for Suns fans.
There is just one question that begs to be asked: Could Dragic's blossom into a bonafide starting-caliber point guard have occurred with the Suns?

The Scott Howard Principle (Suns Playoff Tiebreakers): Updated 4/19
It's that time of year again, and thanks to a (insert superlative here) stretch of play from your Phoenix Suns, a playoff spot is within reach. It is, however, a long reach from a precarious perch. There is a high likelihood at this point that at least two teams clustered between 6th and 10th place in the Western Conference will finish the season with identical records.
The following compilation will delve into how tiebreakers between the combatants closest to the Suns may ultimately decide seeding and entry into the playoffs. An understanding of how the tiebreakers influence the destiny of other teams is necessary to unveil Phoenix's kismet, but I will try to keep the topic as terse and transparent as possible while focusing the analysis towards the Suns.
Gambol forward if you're the gambling type. *Credit to Scott Howard for (the sapient) portions of the content.

Remaining Suns Schedule Is Exciting, But Bittersweet
Tonight’s game with the Rockets has me pretty damn excited. These last three or four weeks have been pretty exhilarating as a whole, and hopefully a win tonight will keep the good times rolling. After all, these are meaningful games we never expected. This is a Suns team punching far, far above its weight.
It’s truly a joy to watch this team take to the court and battle these games out. Yet at the same time, it’s somewhat bittersweet…even if the Suns do make the playoffs.
