Raptors sign Sampson

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors have added free-agent power forward/center Jamal Sampson. Per team policy, financial details were not disclosed.
Sampson, a five-year veteran, has spent time with Denver, Sacramento, Charlotte, the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee. Over his career he has per- game averages of 2.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 72 games.
He posted career highs in 2004-05 for Charlotte when he averaged 3.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23 games for the Bobcats. Sampson was originally drafted in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz after one season at the University of California.
