Bulls' Hinrich undergoes surgery

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich had surgery Tuesday on his right thumb and could be out as many as three months.
The 27-year-old Hinrich suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his thumb in the third quarter of Friday's 100-83 win over Phoenix. The surgery was performed at the Rush Medical Center.
So far this season, Hinrich has appeared in six games and has averaged 8.3 points, 4.0 assists and 1.8 rebounds.
In his sixth NBA season, all with the Bulls, Hinrich has appeared in 395 regular season games, missing just 21. A first-round draft pick in 2003, he is averaging 14.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds a game.
