Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Rockets forward Shane Battier was back in action for the first time since missing all of the preseason and the first 15 games of the regular season during Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Pacers.
Battier underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in May and was undergoing rehabilitation when he suffered a setback that caused him to miss time in the regular season. He tallied five points and seven rebounds in the game.
He averaged 9.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 80 regular season games, including 78 starts, last season.
Guard Tracy McGrady sat out Wednesday's game against the Pacers because of left knee soreness. He is averaging 15.6 points and is shooting 40.7 percent from the field in 15 games this season.
