Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Jason Terry scored 24 points off the bench, leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 101-78 rout of the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena.
Dirk Nowitzki added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won six of seven. Devean George contributed 13 points, while Brandon Bass had 10 points and seven rebounds in the win. Erick Dampier posted eight points and 13 rebounds for the Mavs.
Beno Udrih had 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Kings, who have lost six straight. John Salmons added 10 points, while Donte Green had nine points in the loss.
The Mavericks used a 12-6 run at the end of the first quarter to take a nine- point lead. Terry's three-pointer at the buzzer gave Dallas a 29-20 edge headed into the second.
The visitors increased their lead to as much as 15 in the second quarter, but the Kings closed the gap to eight, 46-38, at halftime.
George's three with 8:21 left in the third extended the Mavs' lead to 12, and Dallas scored the last six points of the quarter to take a commanding 76-57 lead into the fourth.
The Mavs lead was stretched to as much as 27 after a George three made it 91-64 with just under eight minutes to play. The Kings never threatened in the fourth, and Dallas cruised to the victory.
The Kings have lost nine of 10...Dallas has scored over 100 points in eight of the last nine meetings with the Kings and 20 of the last 22...The Mavericks have beaten the Kings in eight of nine meetings...Dallas has won the season series with Sacramento for the last five campaigns...Mavericks forward Josh Howard missed his fifth straight game with an ankle injury.
