After Miami turned the ball over, Thornton connected on a three-point play to up Los Angeles' run to 13-0.
The Heat answered as Shawn Marion logged a three-point play, and Randolph was then called for travelling with 2 1/2 minutes left.
Marion's dunk was blocked by Thornton, though, and the Clippers got the ball back. Davis ended that possession with a jumper that made it 95-89.
Haslem's jumper from the foul line bricked off the iron and Davis notched a fadeaway jumper to make it 97-89.
Wade nailed a jumper and, after Davis missed a long three, drained a three to cut it to 97-94.
Davis then missed another three with about 26 seconds left and Haslem grabbed the rebound. Following a timeout, Wade took the ball, drove through the lane and kicked it to Haslem on the left wing. He nailed a jumper with 7.6 ticks left to make it a one-point game.
On the inbounds pass, Wade stole the ball, grabbed it and threw it into the backcourt before falling out of bounds. Wade took the inbounds pass and dribbled around the right wing before getting fouled by Mike Taylor with 2.9 ticks on the clock.
Wade, stationed under the basket, dashed out to the top of the arc to, again, take the inbounds pass. He gathered the ball, dribbled and let loose a long three from the top-right corner of the arc with Camby in his face. The shot was no good and the Clippers held on for the win.
The Clippers went up 29-28 after the first quarter but the Heat were on top, 56-54, at the break.
The teams traded baskets and each club held a lead before a Mario Chalmers three-pointer from the right wing gave the Heat a 68-63 edge late in the third.
