Suns Pull Away From Cavs in the 4th; Win 17th Straight!

It's one thing to be close to the Bucks in the 4th quarter when their star player is out and you know the Suns can turn on the rockets when they really need to.  It's another to do it against the Cavs with LeBron James playing on national TV.  At the end of the 3rd quarter, I was a little worried the Suns may end their streak in front of a national audience.  But I guess I haven't learned yet that when teams try to play the Suns style of offense, they soon come to learn that despite what all the "analysts" say, the Suns really do play defense.

The key to the Suns victory on Sunday was when Steve Nash was out of the game.  I think the Suns were only up 3 and then they went on an 8-0 run with 2 three point shots and another jumper.  One minute the Cavaliers were in the game.  The next thing they knew, they were out of it.  The Suns will do that to a team.  It's got to be demoralizing.

The Suns spread the offense like only they can and spread around the points like only they can.  5 players were in double figures.  Boris Diaw and Steve Nash combined for 23 assists - 5 more than the entire Cavaliers team.  James Jones didn't have a good box score but it seemed like he was doing the little things for the Suns when it appeared the Cavs were making their run.

Overall, the Suns had a pretty good game against a good team.  They play the Timberwolves tonight at 6:00 Arizona time.  The next three games are going to be tough.  Tonight it's the last of a 5 game road trip (the Suns have already swept one 5-game road trip), then they have to play the Spurs and the Jazz at home.  To really start silencing the critics, it's imperative that the Suns win all three of these games.  More on the Wolves game later today.

Tough Game tonight
KG is back, so that means the Suns are gunna have their hands full in the paint.  Yet not only that the Timberwolves have quite a nice record at their home court 12-8.  This could be the toughest game of the road trip, or it could be just another W among many.  It's all up to how hard the Suns wanna play tonight.

If KG is back...
I expect the Suns to be fired up to play him.  Finally, the Suns get to play two games in a row with both the opposing stars in action!
