Around SBN: Blogger Q&A - And The Valley Shook

Season Preview Time

Jeff Clark at CelticsBlog.com has organized an "around-the-blogosphere" season preview of every team in the league. Many of the teams have multiple blogs providing previews, however, as of this writing, Bright Side of the Sun is the sole representation for the Phoenix Suns. Therefore, I would like to open it up to our readers to contribute your own previews in the diaries. Each team has its own scheduled day for the blogs assigned to submit their previews. We're up on October 29, so that gives a few weeks for us to submit a preview containing a wide range of perspectives from "sky is falling" pessimism to over-the-top optimism. Depending on how many responses we get, I will either combine all previews into a single post (along with my own) on October 29, or else will include links to the diaries if we get too many to make combining them feasible. So, gather your thoughts, pick up your keyboard, and tell us how you think the Suns will do in the upcoming season, using a format like the following:

Team Name
Last Years Record: xx-xx
Key Losses: name, name, name
Key Additions: name, name, name

  1. What significant moves were made during the offseason?
  2. What are the team's biggest strengths?
  3. What are the team's biggest weaknesses?
  4. What are the goals for this team?
  5. (Insert your own question or title here)
Predicted Record: xx-xx

Just posted mine this morning on ACOP.  I don't know how good it is, but it made me feel better writing it.  : )

Um...
Format schmormat.  I did mine in my usual, jaded style.  If you find anything useful, though, feel free to jack whichever pieces.

Format
The format was requested by Jeff. It's not 100% absolutely required, but strongly preferred (for the season previews submitted for his blogosphere season preview project; obviously you can use whatever format you like for your own stuff. :) ).

Ohhhh...
They want actual stuff from everyone?  I was thinking you were putting one together to represent.  Cool.

Darn...now I gotta rethink the whole thing.  lol

Clarifying
Jeff Clark of CelticsBlog is running this effort. He's taken volunteers from various blogs to have at least one blog provide a season preview for a different team each day throughout the month of October. Here is some more information. That page says he's no longer taking volunteers, but you might want to send him a note anyway to get on the list for next year. Also, if he can't get you in this year, you're welcome to post a diary here, and I'll include you in Bright Side of the Sun's submission with a link to your complete preview. Like I said in the above entry, I am opening this thing up to our members to provide their thoughts so that hopefully the end result will be a BSotS-wide preview that represents the wide range of viewpoints of our community. I thought that might be a little more interesting than a post that featured only my opinion (especially with no other bloggers signed on to preview the Suns). The format is the one Jeff asked for, and although it isn't 100% completely mandatory (just highly recommended), it would be extremely helpful to me in creating a combined submission if all previews were in the same format. So I decided to make it mandatory for our efforts here.

Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion. Let me know if you have more questions.
