Game Day Open Thread: Phoenix Suns at Orlando Magic

at
4-2 5-1
5:00 PM Mountain / 7:00 PM Eastern
TV: MY45 HD, NBA League Pass
Probable starters:
Steve Nash PG Jameer Nelson
Raja Bell SG Keith Bogans
Grant Hill SF Hedo Turkoglu
Shawn Marion PF Rashard Lewis
Amare Stoudemire C Dwight Howard

Grant Hill makes his homecoming debut in Orlando tonight, as the Suns face the Magic a day after stealing one in Miami. The Suns have not had great luck so far with back-to-backs, and might be without Raja Bell who sprained his ankle on one of Shaq's "size 22's" last night. Paul Coro writes in his blog that Raja is questionable for the game. If he has to miss, that will likely mean Leandro Barbosa will get his first start of the season. The Suns do have some momentum coming into this game, having successfully executed one of their patented last-minute, come from behind victories last night in Miami. Steve Nash continues to shoot a ridiculous percentage from the three-point line, going 6-of-7 last night and 7-of-10 the game before. He's shooting the three-ball at a 62% clip so far! Shawn Marion grabbed 24 boards in last night's game. That brings him to a 13.7 average for the season thus far. Let's hope both of these guys saved a little of that for tonight! For a more detailed look at the game from the Magic's perspective, visit Third Quarter Collapse. We'll have one more guest recap tonight, this one from jasonsuns1, and I will be back "on the job" for the two games next week.

The Suns will be in for a tough one tonight if their last meeting with the Magic was any indication:

Will be tough...
It is highly probable that the Suns could get abused in the paint tonight by Dwight Howard >_< I know in the past that Amare has usually gotten the best of Howard in the meetings... But ... I don't know... this just seems like it could be a bad game.

Yep, one thing is set in stone, D.Howard makes Amare look small, it's amazing to me how big D.Howard is, in a muscular way, not a shaq, fat but tall way. I really like Howard, he seems pretty cool, and he goes after rebounds like it's the most important thing in the world. Should be an interesting game to watch! Will they boo Hill, maybe, but the fans there have to see it from multiple angles, 1, yes Hill made an awful lot of money from that team, like 90 something million or so, but Hill likely could be the most frustrated basketball player in the last 10 years. To have all that talent and skill, but to miss so many games. We're lucky to have hill Orlando, believe me, we know it. I wish he was healthy for all those years Orlando had him.

Much better
Suns sound (radio) like they're getting back in the groove.

Alright, Suns are mocking me now.....
Figures that they stink up the joint for 1 7/8 of the 2 games that I cover, yet once I'm out of the house, they light it up like the days of yore. LOL!

Told ya that Babs, despite last night's box score, was finding his shot again. ;)

Note to Grant: You've made two 3's - quit pressing your luck, buddy. :D

Amare = Most disrespected 1st team All-NBA in recent or distant memory, ref-wise.

59-43 Suns at the half.

Always remember to keep one foot in the groove
