Introducing a New Writer at Bright Side of the Sun
Those of you who have been around here for a while remember the good old days when this site was run by a life-long Phoenix Suns fan who actually grew up and lived in Phoenix. Today, I am pleased to announce that we once again have a local voice to go with my own view from afar. The guy I am about to introduce is already familiar to the majority of regular readers here. Re-introducing srp, who will now be joining me on the main page. He will be helping out some with game threads and recaps, as well as providing a perspective that only someone who enjoys replaying and analyzing little bits and pieces of every game can. He is also a season ticket holder who can give us the occasional first hand report from being at the game. Please welcome srp to the main page at Bright Side of the Sun.

Alright!
Welcome SRP
Good luck. Perhaps you can tell us why they don't play hard all of the time.
Thanks again!
First, remember that the Spurs and Pistons typically go through a mid season "slump" as they save themselves for the playoff's. No one seems to mind. If you look both the Spurs and Pistons have dropped some games to bad teams. No panic. Of course those teams have proven that they can in fact turn it on and can in fact win a ring. So I get that we aren't them. But clearly this year's team is doing things differently that are more focused on the playoff's (see my posts on the Sun's half court offense).
Next, I really do think there's just a human element here. Think about it. How geared up were we the collective fans for last night's game versus the Laker's game. I wasn't nearly as interested. Is it fair to expect these guys to bring their A game each night for 82 games? There's plenty of times when the B or C game is enough but if the other team is totally focused and we aren't then we might lose. And since we have a target on our backs we are getting every team's A game every night.
How's that?

Sounds good, but...
I don't condone it
I don't think btw that he should get extended at anything more then about $12-$14m for no more then 4 yrs. I think he wants a 6 year max deal. No way he gets that.
But this game is best just forgotten. Its meaningless in the big picture imho.
