Interim Intro
Here are some thoughts about the Suns' interim introduction from the game Friday night.
The soundtrack seemed to skip. Several players were in different spots and I think the deletions didn't flow very well. Boris seemed to get more time, too.
Skinner got in, which is something I've been advocating for a long time, but he didn't do anything cool. I suppose with practice and all ...
Sean Marks got in. WTF? I like him and all but Pike gets more burn and we all know DJ's numbers are going to increase. He's also just too friendly for the tenor of the intro.
What to do with Shaq? STAT's already busting through the brick wall. Here are some random thoughts:
- The shot of Shaq pointing to his ring finger.
- Shaq driving a diesel and flattening other teams and/or Stern.
- Kazaam coming in on a magic carpet.
- Shaq destroying the backboard in a Suns uniform.
- Interview splicing:
A: Who?

You and that intro
I like the one of Shaq pointing to his ring finger, although it might be a little jinx-worthy kind of like "eyes on the prize". Second choice is the 'destroy the backboard' one. I think after this season, the Suns will know more about what they've got with Shaq in a Suns uniform, and a more appropriate intro for him can be done for next year.
Then again, I should probably stay out of this since I only get to see the intro one or two times a year anyway....
It's Important
Speaking of intro and pre-game
He deffinately was amazed at all the in game entertainment crap from the cheerleaders to the gorilla skits to the games during time outs. And of course the flying through the air trampoline act. He did notice that the crowd was at its loudest during the t-shirt toss. Did I mention that at the Bobcats the girl actually threw me a t-shirt and it was a blue Right Guard shirt with no mention of the Suns at all. I am never standing for one of those things again! And of course he was intrigued with Taco Time and the free fries after the game.
He did enjoy the game itself and it was competitive. He quickly grasped the frustration with Boris and how good Amare and Steve are. And he was prepared when I booed Shaq on the jumbo-tron as well.
Strange times
Well if Shaq can stay healthy and Diaw continues to improve (this last month has seen him play alot better) then perhaps we have a chance. But until i see what Shaq can do in a Suns uniform then I'll be very leery of this trade.
BTW still thinkin a Metal themed intro song would be friggen amazing!!!!
wow...srp....
