I feel your pain LA

The Lakers just can't seem to catch a break. The latest is Derek Fisher's torn tendon. This comes on top of Bynum's wandering kneecap, Gasol's gimpy ankle, poor Trevor Ariza's broken foot and who can forget Kobe's partially mutilated pinky finger.

Lakers fans, we feel your pain. We know all about bad luck and untimely injuries but you guys have just been cursed like no other team over the past few years. You finally look to get a full healthy season out of Odom and then you have to suffer through all of this.

You are our division rivals but we really do have sympathy for you....Who am I kidding? I hate L.A. I grew up watching my Suns get bounced in the playoffs year after year by Showtime. I despise obnoxious entitled Lakers fans and your stupid megapoxolis that exports all your problems to your neighbors to the west. From blown over smog, to urban sprawl to the crap that passes for entertainment from your one industry town. I. Hate. LA.

And so while I honestly don't wish injury on anyone, if any team has to have this kind of luck then I am glad its you. Its playoff time once again and I hope we get the chance to send you fishing for the third straight year!

Unless of course the Lakers somehow get Bynum and Gasol healthy and playing well together in which case I hope the Spurs take you out b/c we are a better matchup against them this year then a healthy LA team....

It was...
very ejoyable to see the Lakers flail away and lose to the Bobcats and Grizz.  I wish they would lose every game.  Even Kwame would be better thsn Mbenga and Chris Mihm.

Lakers are injury prone....
I've seen this a lot.

All their bigs all the time are broken.

I thought it might be the medical staff, but its compounded by the fact that they run with injury prone players.

This from the Association.

Below is a list of the five Lakers that have missed significant portions of the season along with the average number of games they play each year. (I didn't count the rookie season because of the many DNP-CD's for rookies.):

Kwame Brown - 67.0 games
Chris Mihm - 67.2 games
Lamar Odom - 63.0 games
Vladimir Radmanovic - 72.3 games
Luke Walton - 65.0 games

So the Lakers are looking at 15 missed games from five of their top eight players each season. Not the best way to utilize Kobe Bryant's prime years is it?

Too bad about the injuries
Hey, it's sad to see a great player go down. But just like I said about the Mavs, screw the Lakers.

It's like this

If you have a freak injury, say Joe Johnson, then that's tough.

But if you build your franchise on the sand of oft-injured players, screw you!

And yeah, that

applies to us too in regard to Grant Hill.

And Shaq
but for LA you really can't say that about Bynum. That was just a freak thing right. And Kobe's pinkie, Ariza's foot and Fishers tendon. Those really weren't "nagging" types.

Now, Vlad, Odom and Walton are injury prone. Oh, and I always forget Mihm b/c he's so injury prone that I don't think I have seen him play in two years.

And for Gasol - he's had issues but not w/ his ankle. And speaking of that, doesn't it seem like he's been out a LONG time w/ just a sprain.

Phx - where riding Diaw happens

Bynum
My brother told me that injuries were a concern with Bynum when he came into the league.  He's had other knee injuries in HS.  One of those "too big for his own good" things.  Maybe it's not a freak thing.

I would love the lakers to be teased all season

and bounced out the first round of the playoffs.

THAT would be too good.

Maybe they do have bad medical staff

You're right.  Kobe's pinkie is inevitable given how they've ridden him ragged.

Fisher's tendon, Ariza's foot and Bynum's injury just seem par for the course.

What are they doing to these players?  I blame the triangle.  Those cuts and positioning are injuries waiting to happen.  =)

He didn't wear out his pinkie from passing...

Hah - nice alliteration!

Thankfully that's not true of our purples...
