Sure, everyone and their dog tells me I'm too nice. Well guess what? I'm changing my ways and I finally get to be a villain!
Over at Blazer's Edge, they do a contest each month. Dave throws out some players and a certain statistic for each of them. His readers get to try and guess what the players will get for each one and they get points for being right. The winner at the end of the month wins a Blazers jersey with the player of his/her choice.
I thought that sounded like a good idea. But I'm too cheap still to get my own contest going. Because of that, I'm going to crash HIS contest! (Note: Dave and I have talked about this and have specific rules set up. Please DO NOT go mess up the good thing he's got going over there. That's not the purpose of this.)
Here's the deal: I get to participate in the contest in February. If I win, Dave buys me a jersey just like he would one of his readers. But it's a Suns jersey. If I lose, I have to write one sentence about why the Blazers are good. The catch? It's one sentence for every person above me in the rankings. So if one person is above me, it shouldn't be too hard. If I'm at the bottom of the rankings, I would have to write over 50 sentences about why the Blazers are good. That could kill me.
If you're interested in seeing what Blazers fans are saying about this, go check out http://www.blazersedge.com/story/2007/1/29/13627/2264. I especially like the picture with Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire.
Please remember: this is for fun. Don't go crash Dave's site and make this a miserable experience. If you want to comment on his posts, go ahead. But be nice and remember that the Suns are the best team in the league but they're also the classiest. Let's not let the Blazers Edge readers think otherwise.
I'll keep you updated on the progress when I start. GO SUNS!
