I'm really fed up with this crappy All-Star voting thing. Something really does have to change with it. It's absolutely ludicrous that the Phoenix Suns have the second best record in the league and will have no starters on the All-Star team. Dallas has the best record in the league and it doesn't appear that he'll be named a starter either.
Steve Nash currently ranks 4th behind Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady and Allen Iverson. Amare Stoudemire only has a third of the votes that Yao Ming has. Shawn Marion is seventh behind Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Carmelo Anthony, Shane Battier and Lamar Odom.
I know the All-Star game is for the fans but when the fans are just plain stupid it diminishes the meaning of the term All-Star. If the NBA keeps the voting the way it is, they should at least rename the game to "Most Popular Players Including Guys Who Don't Help Their Teams Win (Allen Iverson), Guys Who Won't Fight Like Men (Carmelo Anthony) and Guys Who Get Votes Only Because They Play With Yao Ming (Shane Battier)".
If the NBA renamed the game to that, I would feel much better about Shawn being in 7th and Steve being in 4th.
