The Phoenix Suns come off the All-Star break on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers. Yes, I know the game isn't until Tuesday. But the masses want to talk about something dealing with the Suns and who am I to disagree? It's been a boring week. I didn't realize how much I loved writing about the Suns until there was nothing to write about.
So the Suns head into LA. Will they have Steve? Will they have Kurt? Will they have Boris? I'm guessing they'll have all three.
Steve Nash
I heard an interview earlier where Steve Nash was speaking. He said he probably would play as long as the shoulder continued to feel good. He mentioned that the tenderness was going away and that the shoulder was getting stronger. I expect him to play at least 20 minutes tomorrow.
Boris Diaw
I expect Boris to play as well. his back was still bothering him the last I heard but I haven't heard anything about him in the past few days. If you've heard something else, please comment below.
Kurt Thomas
Some people, including some on this site, have suggested that Kurt start. I'm not so sure about that. I would rather have him come off the bench to let Amare get a breather - at least for the first few games. After that, I'm still up in the air. Mike D'Antoni tried taking Boris off the bench earlier in the year and that didn't work. Who else would he bench? Are you going to bench Raja to start Kurt? That leaves the Suns awfully big and awfully slow with only Steve (and maybe Shawn) as three point shooters. I just don't see that as a good idea.
If Steve, Boris and Kurt are all back I expect the Suns to take the game easily. But the Suns can still pull the game out if either Steve or Boris is playing tomorrow.
Your thoughts on the game? What do you think about starting Kurt? Who would you remove from the starting lineup to play Kurt? What are the chances that Steve comes back tomorrow? Your thoughts on Boris? Only about 24 hours until we can watch our Suns again. I'm getting very antsy!
