The nets weren't scorching and the rims went unharmed, because for a second straight game here at U.S. Airways Center the turnovers were a plenty.
Collectively on the court this game might have been featured the some of the worst basketball decisions in a long time. Time after time players would jump in the air and send a pass into the stands or into the backcourt. There was no flow or rhythm, but there was a winner. The Phoenix Suns held on to get the () win over the Atlanta Hawks to extend the winning streak to three games.
First Half Review
The first quarter was a telling sign for the rest of the game. Hawks star forward Josh Smith came out to have a first quarter for the ages, but it ended up being from the dark ages. He threw errand pass after errand pass to give the Suns the advantage all quarter long. Smith finished the first quarter with three turnovers (all of the teams turnovers by the way), two more awful passes, and three bad long jumpers outside of the offense.
To give the Suns credit they jumped on the Hawks mistakes in the second quarter for a five point lead at half-time.
Second Half Review
Goran Dragic played a great game, but it ended early with him landing on his butt on a breakaway. It appeared the Suns might fold without their leader, but Marcus Morris came up huge off the bench with 16 points (4-5 on threes) and 5 rebounds and Wesley Johnson got a big 15 points and 6 rebounds
