Phoenix Suns face Dallas Mavericks who hope they can finally shave

This Phoenix Suns tanking campaign is almost over. Just a few more games, but first Goran and the boys take on the hairy-faced Dallas Mavericks who have a lot to play for even though they won't be in the post season.

USA TODAY Sports

Dallas is 38-39 on this disappointing season for them that will see the Mavs miss the playoffs for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign. That's a streak of 12-straight postseason appearances for the Cowboys that's about to come to an end.

Perhaps more importantly, the Mavs have a great chance to end another streak with this game against the cellar-dwelling Suns. The Cowboys promised not to shave until they reached the .500 mark. It's been, well, it's been a long time and facing a bad Suns team on the back end of a back-to-back, the locker room janitorial crew should be prepping for some REALLY hairy sinks.

Key match-ups include...well gosh darn it, there's actually no interesting match-ups between these two teams. Here's some players who should be playing at 5:30pm AZ Time on FSNAZ.

  • Luis Scola vs Chris Kaman
  • Markieff Morris vs Dirk Nowitzki
  • Wesley Johnson vs O.J. Mayo
  • Goran Dragic vs Mike James (what happened to Darren Collison?)
  • P.J. Tucker vs Shawn "THE MATRIX" Marion

Maybe of interest will be Marcus Morris who played decent in Houston after being buried in Lindsey Hunter's dog house. Maybe not.

Only four more games, folks. You've come this far...

Mavs Moneyball will have the Dallas Shaving Report.
