Finally, we get to hear some NEW info from the front office, coaches and players as they prepare to kick off the 2014-15 season with everyone under contract and then some.
The Phoenix Suns officially open the club's 47th NBA season on Monday, September 29, when the club hosts its annual Media Day on the Annexus Practice Court at US Airways Center with interview and photo availability from 10 a.m. to noon.
Media Day will begin with a press conference featuring President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby, General Manager Ryan McDonough, Head Coach Jeff Hornacek and guard Eric Bledsoe at 10 a.m.
I assume Bledsoe's press conference will be followed by a Zoran Dragic presser, but maybe the Suns don't want to make the relatively small signing a big deal. The did only sign for $3.5 million over two years, plus a payoff of his buyout clause. We shall see.
The Bright Side staff will have 4 staffers there (Dave King, Kris Habbas, Sean Sullivan and Jim Coughenour) at the 2-hour event plus a videographer (Suns fan, Evan Wendt). We'll be all over that practice court like solar flares. Hopefully we'll get some great video, audio and photo coverage of the event.
With so many of us, we'll have an opportunity to talk to most of the players.
Suns.com will also be live-streaming the event as it unfolds, using their new digital network called RISE.
The Phoenix Suns, recipients of the NBA's Digital Innovator Award earlier this year, are introducing RISE, a new digital network featuring exclusive video content available on Suns.com and through the team's official mobile app. RISE will launch on Monday, September 29 with a livestream of Suns Media Day, beginning at 10 a.m., including multiple camera angles and a first-person view via Google Glass.
The RISE digital network will feature a new talk show, "Four Quarters," as well as Annexus Practice Reports, roundtable discussions with Suns broadcasters and alumni, an interactive postgame show with Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, player profiles and more.
In addition, RISE will offer daily coverage from Suns Training Camp on the live show "Training Camp Today, powered by Verizon." Training camp coverage will culminate with a livestream of the Suns Scrimmage on Saturday, October 4 at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff. Coverage will begin at noon.
Bright Side won't be up in Flagstaff throughout the week, but we've got Media Day and the scrimmage covered!
Help us out. Leave us some questions to ask the players!
