Phoenix Suns assign Tyler Ennis and T.J. Warren to Bakersfield for weekend games

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Bakersfield shuttle left the station again today, this time holding rookies Tyler Ennis and T.J. Warren. The Phoenix Suns announced the move, and coach Jeff Hornacek said it would be for a couple of weekend games.

The Suns are really trying to keep their young guys fresh. Just last weekend, Archie Goodwin helped Bakersfield win the mid-season Showcase, earning MVP honors of the little 8-team tourney.

Now, Ennis and Warren are back for their third stint with the club. Ennis is averaging 18.2 points on 46.8 percent shooting, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 33.6 minutes in five games with the Jam, while Warren is averaging 23.6 points on 53.5 percent shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 33.6 minutes in five games.

Minutes are tight on the big club, and coach Hornacek is certainly itching to get Goodwin in a game or two in the near future, as well as new acquisition Reggie Bullock.
