As part of the celebration of Jr. NBA Week, the Phoenix Suns will be holding events designed to teach more than 200 local youths about the fundamentals and values of the game.
Eric Bledsoe and Sonny Weems will each help lead a Sun Skills Academy being held on Friday, October 23 along with Suns legend Tom Chambers. On Saturday, Suns alumnus Joe Courtney and Tim Kempton will both be at local YMCAs for two additional Sun Skills Academies.
Each event will replicate the NBA Draft Combine with vertical jump, running maximum vertical and a reactive shuttle run to test draft prospects, according to the team's press release. Participants will also get a group photo with the players along with a Q&A session.
Suns GM Ryan McDonough was recently named to the Jr. NBA Leadership Council, which aims to make a difference in children's lives.
