Phoenix Suns power rankings round-up: Suns in free fall

Suns below 20th in several recent power rankings.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

After dropping four straight games, the Phoenix Suns are in free fall in this week's power rankings.

We'll start with NESN's power rankings. Writer Darren Hartwell has Phoenix at 23.

Here's what Hartwell had to say:

"The Suns have the third-best offense in the NBA but are giving up 106 points per game and have lost three straight. Last week: 18"

Next we'll see what Matt Moore at CBS Sports said. Moore ranked Phoenix at 23 as well.

Here's what Moore had to say:

"They've now lost seven of eight after Jeff Green hit a game-winning alley-oop Sunday. That sentence is unbelievable enough without this: the Suns are now 1-6 in games where the score is within three points in the final minute. Things, as they say, have taken a turn for the worse."

Next up we head over to NOLA.com to see what writer John Reid thinks about the Suns. Reid had the Suns at 23 as well (which is becoming a common trend).

Here's what Reid had to say:

"Are the second-highest scoring team in the NBA, averaging 106.3 points. But the Suns have lost three straight and eight of their last 10."

Moving on, we check in with Tim Bontemps at the Washington Post. Bontemps placed the Suns at 24.

Here's what Bontemps had to say:

"Four straight sucker-punch losses - in Brooklyn, Detroit, Washington and Memphis - in a week have the Suns reeling."
