Today, the Phoenix Suns recalled both Reggie Bullock and Archie Goodwin from the Bakersfield Jam after each carried the Jam to a victory in the last two games.
These guys will get their All-Star Break just like the rest of the team.
Goodwin averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals over two games. Goodwin, who had been struggling with his jumper, hit a tough go-ahead shot with 3.1 seconds remaining to give the Jam a 139-137 victory as he finished with 35 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Bullock played pretty well too. He averaged 22.0 points on 55.2 percent shooting, and made two thirds of three pointers. He also averaged 9.0 rebounds in this two game stint. Bullock had a double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds) in Sunday's win at Reno and 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in Tuesday's 102-96 win at the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Over 10 Jam games this season, Goodwin is averaging 22.6 points on 43.6 percent shooting, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals.
In four games with Bakersfield this season, Bullock is averaging 23.8 points on 50.7 percent shooting and 46.2 percent three-point shooting, and 9.8 rebounds.
Return of Brown!
The Jam also acquired Alec Brown from the draft rights pool (ie. a Suns draft pick). Brown, a 7'1" shot blocker and sweet shooter, was the 50th player picked in the 2014 Draft by the Phoenix Suns.
Suns fans were excited about his potential over the summer as a stretch four/five guy.
But then he hurt his shoulder. Bad. I was there at that game where Brown made his first shot - a perfect three-pointer - but then went down in a scrum for a loose ball and was not seen again.
Green Bay followers recognized the injury
The shoulder injury is the same one he battled for a good portion of his senior season at Green Bay, an injury that occurred towards the end of January 2014 and lingered through the course of the rest of the year.
He had been rehabbing that separated shoulder for the past six months. Originally, he'd agreed to play overseas this year (for a lot more money than the D-League) but now that he's recovered he will join the Jam sometime this month and get his first action since that fateful summer game.
There's room on the Jam roster now that Earl Barron has left for more money overseas after not being picked up by an NBA team.
Here's some Alec Brown highlights to whet yer whistle
