Steve Nash and Robert Sarver will enter ownership of Spain's Real Mallorca, the club stated on Monday. Real Mallorca plays in Spain's second division, Liga Adelante, and has not played in the country's top flight since 2012-13.

The club has a long history of being one of Spain's most successful and well known sides, despite their recent history. They last won Copa Del Rey in 2003.

Nash has a long history of supporting the beautiful game throughout his basketball career and into retirement. Last summer it was reported that Nash trained with the New York Cosmos' developmental team.
