Play Ball! Phoenix Suns Open Scrimmage gets an open thread!

The Phoenix Suns will play a competitive (kind of) scrimmage of NBA basketball today!

suns-scrimmage-2014

For the first time 5 12 months, 170 days to be exact, the Phoenix Suns will play an organized game of basketball!

And you won’t even have to find a pirated feed to watch it!

Today at 12:00pm AZ time, you can watch the Suns open scrimmage LIVE on Suns.com and through the Suns mobile app at Suns.com/app. Calling the action are Jon Bloom and Tim Kempton.

In even better news, this year the Suns will be posting a live of feed of all of their home preseason games - Monday October 3, Wednesday October 5 and Friday October 14 - via Suns.com and the app as well.

NOON. TODAY.

Before having their free scrimmage at the Madhouse on McDowell last year, as many as 5,000 fans attended the 2014 scrimmage in Flagstaff. It’s a great atmosphere, with the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome outfitted for a basketball game.

The Suns don’t have any reported injuries yet (sorry Sixers), so you should be able to get a glimpse of every young and old player you’ve been itching to see for months. Not to jinx anything, but if any players are indeed held out, we’ll be told within an hour of tipoff. Watch twitter for updates.

BSotS will be there in force today to get pictures, videos, interviews and post a game recap as well. Sean Sullivan and old friend of the blog Jim Coughenour are making the trek up the hill from Phoenix to Flagstaff, so watch their twitter feeds for live updates throughout the game.

Again, watch the scrimmage yourself at Suns.com or through their app.

BASKETBALL IS BACK!

I guarantee a Suns win. I also guarantee a Suns loss.
