Hey there Suns fans!
In an effort to keep our perspective fresh and unique on Bright Side, we give long time Suns fans Paul and Justin a chance to share their points of view on the Suns roster and chances this season.
As you know, Kellan is hosting a week-daily podcast now called ‘Locked on Suns’ that will be delivered in small bite sizes from a journalistic point of view.
But what about the fans? We can’t let Bright Side become an extension of me (more accurate than funny).
Think of this as a tamer version of Bright Side After Dark from Scott, Sreekar and Bryan a couple years ago, but at the same time a lot funnier than the Kris/Jim/Sean/Dave quad from before that.
At least that’s how I envision it.
As Justin, one of the pod hosts, puts it:
We definitely want to give the vibe of a couple of fans discussing the Suns from our points of view because, well, that's what we are. We don't have journalism backgrounds and we wouldn't want to try to come across like we do -- as that would be a disservice to the folks who commit their careers to journalism. "By the fans, for the fans" is the perfect way of characterizing what we were going for. I can definitely see why you'd prefer to be accurate rather than funny, and I think we can certainly bring a humorous approach to discussions about the Suns. Paul and I have been friends for the better part of two decades (and Suns fans for even longer), so the back and forth jokes and (tasteful) pot shots will not be lacking.
Take a listen, and then let us know what you think in the comments!
Should we make Justin and Paul a regular thing on here?
Or should we keep looking in new directions?
