Suns’ Booker Expects to Play Against Portland

Wearing New Shoes

We've all heard that Devin Booker grew an inch in height last year and added about 10 pounds to his frame. Well, it seems that his feet also grew and the recent toe problems that he's had are due to wearing shoes that were a little too small for him now according to Craig Grialou of Arizona Sports.

“I think my shoe was a little bit too small and the toe just kept hitting the front of the shoe,” Booker said, following shootaround. “My toe started bruising, but I didn’t think nothing of it. I felt a little pain like two weeks ago, then I got it treated and I didn’t feel it anymore and then during the Oklahoma City game I starting feeling it. It got pretty bad. It was hard to walk the next morning and like I said, I moved up a shoe size. I’ve been icing it, doing treatment 24 hours a day, so it feels a lot better now.”

He's still officially listed as questionable for the Suns game vs. Portland but he says he's ready to play.

I think we all expected Devin to go through some growing pains this season but nothing quite so literal.
