Before Friday night, the Phoenix Suns were wondering when the real Devin Booker would show up for the 2016-17 season.
Coming into the Friday game, Booker was struggling on his shot and activity level with a turf toe apparently created by wearing shoes too tight for him. Some wondered if the hype around Booker was getting to him, that the pressure to perform would eat away at his performance all season long.
After Friday night, we are no longer wondering.
Booker, who turned 20 years old just five days ago, poured in 38 points on 22 shots against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, capped off by a totally-as-he-planned-it bank shot to give the Suns a three-point lead in overtime.
Watch all the Bookermania here...
Booker’s scoring covered almost 40% of all Suns scoring on Friday, but there WERE some other heroics going on, including an incredible couple of plays by Eric Bledsoe down the stretch and the best inbounds scoring play we’ve seen from the Suns in years to win the game.
