We did it!
MORE THAN A THOUSAND
That big round number just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?
I just want to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who donated tickets to help us bring these kids to their first Suns game on Sunday night when the Suns host The Brow and the Pelicans at 6:30PM.
I feel like George Bailey right about now.
We raised more than $16,000 dollars this year to fill a corner of the arena with a bunch of excited young new Suns fans!
Thanks also goes to Jared Dudley, Lon Babby and Earl Watson for their support in this endeavor!
Getting something back?
For those of you who donated 10+ tickets, or who otherwise entered into a promotion and are expecting something, you should have heard from either me or Lauren Baum of the Suns by now.
First, check your junk mail or spam. Email providers are getting better and better at weeding out unsolicited crap, but sometimes legit emails get swept up too. Look in your junk/spam for something from Lauren Baum or from Dave King.
If you don’t find anything, or have ANY questions at all, email Lauren at firstname.lastname@example.org or me at email@example.com. We can answer any questions you’ve got. Or leave a comment below, and we will figure it out.
Note: Game tickets will be at a ‘Bright Side Night’ table in the main lobby of the Suns arena pregame until about game time. After that, the tickets will be at Will Call under your name.
We’ve got lot of things going on for both the kids and those who donated and are attending the game!
Pregame lower bowl access for kids
Some of the kids will get early-entrant access to the lower bowl to watch the players warm up! They can even get autographs from some of the players too.
Pregame interview with Ryan McDonough in the Mercury locker room
Some of the bigger, earlier donors get to visit the Phoenix Mercury locker room and ask questions of Suns GM Ryan McDonough. McDonough was awesome last year, staying for more than 30 minutes to answer every last question. This year, we are starting the session 45 minutes before game time to give everyone time to get to their seats before the anthem is performed.
We will be giving out custom Bright Side Night T-shirts to a lot of the kids as they experience their first ever Suns game.
So far, the Suns are 1-0 on Bright Side Night. Let’s make it 2-0 guys!
Halftime High Five Tunnel
Other donors will get down to court level and give the players high fives on their way back to the court after halftime.
Post Game Court Time
All donors who attend the game can meet up after the buzzer to step onto the actual playing court, take pictures and even cut down and take a piece of the net home with them.
Jersey giveaway to a lucky kid
After its all over, Bright Sider Jim Coughenour is personally donating an authentic Suns jersey to one lucky kid. We are going to run a contest to give the jersey to the kid with the best story about their Bright Side Night experience! I can’t wait to share the results of this effort with you. I’m imagining Bright Side Headquarters getting bombarded with bag after bag of letters.
