The Suns reportedly have interest in Anthony Bennett

Will the Suns sign the former #1 pick when he clears waivers?

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Bennett, who has bounced around quite a bit since being drafted #1 overall in 2013, was recently cut by the Toronto Raptors. If and when he clears waivers, would the Phoenix Suns take a chance on him?

According to The Vertical's Shams Charania, they just might:

The Phoenix Suns may look into Bennett once he clears waivers, sources said.

Bennett, the first pick by Cleveland in 2013, has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 128 career games for the Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Raptors. During his stints with Cleveland and Minnesota, Bennett - a former standout at UNLV - had injury setbacks.

Maybe all he needs is a new home. He's only 22, and hasn't quite been dealt a full hand of cards. Maybe getting some run on this Phoenix team, with access to their training staff, is exactly what he needs.
