I will make this fanpost short and sweet. The main idea of this rebuild is to A. get a young, 2 way talent at PF who is proven, and B. create a farm system unlike anything the NBA has ever seen by drafting young and talented players and stashing several on the Jam at the same time.
3rd overall pick (im just throwing out a moderate pick): TRADE!!! Brandon Knight, PJ Tucker, and the 3rd overall pick to the Jazz for Derrick Favors and their 2016 1st round pick. The idea here is to get us a PF finally, and the Jazz can build on issues that they currently have, depth and offense.
Wizards Lottery Pick: Skal Labissiere, C, Kentucky. Im not sure if Len can be that guy long term, so we put some pressure on him to finally become the double figure scorer that he can be. And if he cant do that, then we let him walk in free agency and bring in Skal after a year of developing on the Jam. If Len is able to prove himself, then Skal can replace Chandler on the depth chart instead.
Jazz Pick: Demetrius Jackson, PG, Notre Dame. We need a backup PG after the Knight trade if Price leaves, and Jackson is the most qualified person here to pick up that role.
Cleveland Pick: Nigel Hayes, F, Wisconsin. After giving up a good forward in the trade for Favors, we build up depth by drafting a long 2 way forward.
Our 2nd round pick: Dorian Finney-Smith, SF, Florida. Feed that farm system with talented players.
Resign Leuer. Mirza only if he takes a discount. Fill the remaining roster spots with high upside guys and have at least 2-3 guys on the roster at all time on the Jam. This allows the young guys to develop while we have a serviceable starting lineup and depth chart.
PG: Bledsoe, Jackson
SG: Booker, Goodwin, Bogdan
SF: Warren, Hayes, Finney-Smith
PF: Favors, Leuer, (Mirza)
C: Len, Chandler, Labissiere
