The NBA D-League and the Phoenix Suns today announced that the team has finalized its purchase of the Bakersfield Jam, the teams solo-affiliated D-League team. The Suns will be relocating the team to Prescott Valley starting with the 2016/17 season.

Despite being solo-affiliated with the organization, the Jam had previously been owned by a stand-alone ownership group that pre-dated the solo-affiliation, based out of Bakersfield. With this new move, the team and its affiliate will enjoy closer business ties as well as player development ties.

The Jam/Suns will play next season in the Prescott Valley Event Center, previously known as Tim's Toyota Center, a 5,300 seat arena located in Prescott Valley easily accessed from State Route 69. The new facility is almost exactly 90 miles from Talking Stick Resort Arena, which should facilitate closer relations between the players, staff and management teams of the junior and senior teams.
