There was a buzz around the room prior to the arrival of the newest Phoenix Suns. Media, staff, and even Devin Booker were all anxiously awaiting for last night's draftees to speak about their experiences to this point and their expectations for what is to come.
Perhaps the best news to come out of today's interviews is that Booker is poised to join Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss, and Tyler Ulis in Vegas for some (but likely not all) of Summer League. That should make the Suns one of the most intriguing teams on the Summer circuit, as well as create a foundation for continuity going forward.
Coach Watson and GM Ryan McDonough had a hard time holding back their enthusiasm about each of their new toys, and it was a welcomed change to hear players exhibit a desire to play with the Suns organization.
Also, McDonough adds detail to how the deal with Sacramento came about -- determining that Bender needed to be targeted first because Chriss was the lesser valued prospect around the league.
The presser runs a little over twenty minutes, but I would say it is definitely worth the time of any Suns fan with the thirst to better get to know the draftees on a more personal level rather than through the tireless practice of submerging through DraftExpress videos.
