Report: Suns and Hawks talking deal involving Paul Millsap

Millsap averaged 17.1 points and 9 rebounds with Atlanta last season.

Sigh.

Rolling off the success of the last week, just when you thought the Suns were going to stop acting like the Suns, BANG, they start acting like the Suns again.

I picked up my phone, I was getting ready to tweet (@BSUKeith): "WHO IS THIS TEAM DOING ALL THESE COMPETENT THINGS?" and this nonsense slapped me right in the face. This can't be true. This isn't going to happen. To say this would kill a lot of the excitement that has built among Suns fans this week is putting it lightly.

A play for Millsap is a short term fix for a problem the Suns have spent SIX YEARS BUILDING. This team isn't going to the playoffs next season. You know that right?  Be cool, Suns. Fans are excited about what you're doing. We want to see Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss develop. We want to see Devin Booker keep doing Devin Booker things, and everyone likes Jared Dudley right? You're drafting and free agenting so good right now.

Walk away.
