After a great showing in Las Vegas during the Suns three games thus far, the week kept on getting better for big man Alan Williams. News broke yesterday that the city of Phoenix had named Jerri Williams, mother of Big Sauce himself, the new Phoenix police chief.
The appointing of Williams is a history making move for the city, as there has never been a female chief in Phoenix. Currently the police chief out in Oxnard, California since 2011, Williams will be replacing current police chief Joe Yahner, who is slated to retire in October.
You can watch (Alan) Williams speak to suns.com about his admiration for his mother and what kind of influence she has had on who he is as a man here.
